PAX East Hands-On: The Darkness II

After waiting two hours in line at the booth for The Darkness II my friend and I finally made it in to get our grimy little hands on the demo. We were the last batch of the day and the seven of us were ushered into the heavily guarded and boxed in booth. Inside it was dark with black lights and heavy, clear curtains dividing the actually play area from the main section. The creepy ambiance and The Darkness occasionally chiming in reminding us of its evil and demonic intentions set the mood for this sequel; Dark, Grim and Scary. Before we were able to play the actual game the Producer, Seth, gathered us around and told us that there are twelve screenshots out right now and if there happens to be a thirteenth one there is going to be hell to pay. Batman Catches The Armed Man In Arkham City, Also A Release Date

You know that bastard that gets blamed for everything. That damned one armed man. Well he is running around Arkham City and Batman has him in his sites. Who would have thought that he was actually one of the Joker's clown makeup wearing lieutenants, let alone actually exist? Kingdoms Of Amlur At GDC

At GDC last week Curt Schilling took the stage and showed off one of the most buzzed about games from 38 Studios and EA, Kingdom of Amlur: Reckoning. Finally Some Game Play From Alice: Madness Returns

Modern Warfare 3 May Have Been A Hoax, But Battlefield 3 Is Not

The Twisted Art Of Alice: Madness Returns

Who Wouldn't Want Some New Portal 2 Screens?

Am I right or am I right? With April seeming so far off, at least for me, I know I will take every little bit I can get for Portal 2 as it comes out. Even though they don't show all that much for the game that we haven't already been able to extrapolate. I mean this just shows some of the "tests" left for Chell to get through and nothing all that much more. I am digging the shot of Chell running from some kind of bot, doesn't look totally like GLaDOS to me, and the interesting concept of what looks like an underground water cooling system. I've heard that it is a hint at something for a new Half Life, but that is just speculation last I searched. Read More...

Easy, you get 38 Studios. Founded in 2006 and headed by the former Boston Redsox pitcher Curt Schilling, 38 Studios has their first title Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning coming out later this fall. With Todd McFarlane (Spawn, McFarlane Toys) heading the Art Direction it is safe to expect nothing short of an amazing looking game. Oozing with intensity, the trailer showcases epic fights against dragons, immense/diverse scenery and a score that is sure to make your heart flat-line. Could We Be Seeing Modern Warfare 3 At GDC?

So we are either going to get a look at the next billion dollar game from Activision or one of the best pranks run on fans of the Modern Warfare franchise. A new site, findmakarov.com, has begun to be passed around the net. It doesn't feature anything stating Modern Warfare 3 on it but it does have a countdown with the franchise know font face. Not to mention the site name does link back to the "villain" of Modern Warfare 2. In all actuality, this is most likely a nice little tease for what Activision is going to show off at GDC. Ok, so you could really do it in the first [Prototype] but in [Prototype 2] it looks to have been super charged in the new "teaser" that has made its way to the web. It may not be showing much but the game is still a least a year out from launch so what do you expect Radical Entertainment to give us? I mean we should all be surprised that there is a sequel coming out in the first place given the actions of Activision lately. Id's Rage Becomes Untethered With A New Trailer & Release Date

By Matt Waitt Id Software gives us a nice little reminder that their first new IP in over ten years is coming out. That IP being Rage. This new trailer shows off some extremely beautiful landscapes of destruction as well as some promising action scenes. All set to the tune of an original song titled “Burning Jacob’s Ladder” by singer Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age, Gutter Twins).
