This Week In Video Games 3/9/15 — 3/13/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of March 2015 - 11:04 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This week in video game news can totally be summed up with delays and Mortal Kombat X. Hells, even Mortal Kombat X had a delay announcement for the last gen systems. Nothing like what happened to Uncharted 4 and Homefront being delayed until 2016 but at least nothing was cancelled. This of course is all to go along with the showing off of two titles coming out here soon; Battlefield Hardline and Bloodborne. Like we had any worry on those video games being delayed though… As per the usual structure here, we have a nice little list showing off all of the video game news, information, and updates that we were lucky enough to cover during the week. New Details On The Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack & Guest Character
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of March 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have released some new info on the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack & the first guest character fitting for Friday The 13th So here we go with even more Mortal Kombat X character reveals, updates, and information. I love that NetherRealm is giving us a flood of new stuff but I wish that it was all at one time. This one though makes sense given the Friday The 13th date and the announcement. If you couldn't tell by now we are getting Jason Voorhees, of Friday The 13th fame, as our first guest character and he will be included along with three other characters in the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack. See How Mortal Kombat X's Mobile Game Is Going To Handle
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
New footage for the Mortal Kombat X mobile app has been released and shows off how the game will be played It seems to be Mortal Kombat X week over here as we had the character announcements earlier and now we have a nice taste of the mobile game's gameplay. Just below you can see how Mortal Kombat X is going to handle on the Android version of the app but it should be safe to assume that it will run about the same on the iOS version as there doesn't look to be anything platform specific here at all. I'm not an iOS guy so correct me if I am wrong in that statement but if there isn't tapping and swiping allowed there then I am glad to keep with my Android products; with more Mortal Kombat X now. Here is what we can see for Mortal Kombat X running on an Android. Read More...

More Characters Confirmed, Rumored, & Seen For Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2015 - 05:01 PM ]
In the wake of GDC and a new trailer for Mortal Kombat X we have more confirmed fighters and more to speculate on if they are more than set pieces I guess it's time to state that Johnny Cage is now completely confirmed for Mortal Kombat X. We have some new gameplay footage for the game and now we have a good look at the character. Also though we have some new speculation that proves that my mistrust in having screens and renders for character in Mortal Kombat X are actually founded a bit. Oh, and Sonya Blade is a 100% confirmed fighter for Mortal Kombat X. Read More...

A recent update to the Mortal Kombat X product page on Amazon has revealed Johnny Cage plays a huge role in the game outside of fathering a new fighter At the end of last week Johnny Cage was only rumored to be in Mortal Kombat X. Now, thanks to an update on Amazon for the product page, we have a character render and character description for Mr. Cage. Granted this doesn't completely confirm that Johnny Cage will be playable in Mortal Kombat X but it does kind of point more in the direction of that being the case. Read More...

Rumor: Another Two Characters For Mortal Kombat X?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of March 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
From recent interviews and screenshots it looks like Mortal Kombat X may include playable Johnny Cage and Blind Kenshi Others are stating that it has been confirmed that Johnny Cage will be coming back for Mortal Kombat X. Others as in other outlets who are basing this all off of a recent interview, that has been pulled offline by Warner Bros., where one of the senior producers on Mortal Kombat X stated directly that Johnny would be playable in the full version of the game. This interview comes from Game Crate and has been spread all over by now but it looks like the PR cleanup crew has been doing their job to keep character announcements on their terms and not a slip up by some of the people working on the game. Mortal Kombat X Is Also Coming To Mobile Devices Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of March 2015 - 06:01 PM ]
Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have announced that Mortal Kombat X will be getting a mobile version of the game to give all access to Mortal Kombat X You read that correctly. Mortal Kombat X is coming to mobile devices now. It may not be in the same way you may be thinking but it will get to add multiple more devices for us all to experience the world of Mortal Kombat X. Granted the mobile version will be a fighting/card-battler game instead of the traditional Mortal Kombat we are used to but NetherRealm is looking to keep expanding the universe and in doing so this gives all of us a few more bonuses for Mortal Kombat X in the long run. Before you ask, Mortal Kombat X's mobile app is going to be free to play and will sync up to the console and PC version of the game. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 2/23/15 — 2/27/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 28th of February 2015 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games It's week like this in the video game industry that makes sites like ours look like video game fan sites instead. By that I mean when one or two titles dominate the news for the week to the point where almost everything written and covered is on only those titles. This week Mortal Kombat X, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Final Fantasy XV did just that to us as they had so much going on to cover for the week. Those three pretty much took up 50% of the video game news on our site here. Read More...

Brutalities Konfirmed & Shown For Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of February 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
The Brutality finisher for Mortal Kombat X has now been confirmed and shown off by NetherRealm during their recent Kombat Kast The Brutality finisher for Mortal Kombat X has been teased and now we have full confirmation that they will be making a return. This all comes from the most recent Kombat Kast from NetherRealm where the team showed off a bit more of Cassie Cage's variations and then finished with her performing a Brutality to end the match. Of course this was also followed up with a montage of a bunch of other Brutalities to help add up to the more than 100 different Brutality finishers. That would average at least 5 different Brutalities for each of the shown character slots for Mortal Kombat X. Read More...

Spawn May Be Coming To Mortal Kombat X If NetherRealm Wants
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of February 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
According to a recent interview with Todd McFarlane Spawn could be included in Mortal Kombat X if NetherRealm wants to us the character Hopefully you read the title correctly so we won't have to look at this as Mortal Kombat X rumor, conjecture, hopes, or any other bullshit that usually goes rampant when a little nugget like this hits the web. What is going on is that during a recent interview with GamerFitNation, Todd McFarlane (the daddy of the Spawn franchise) made claim that NetherRealm could bring Spawn into the Mortal Kombat X franchise. Not only that but it is really up to the studio and publisher if they want to as there has already been a short deal struck between the two. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 2/9/15 — 2/13/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 14th of February 2015 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Way to wrap a week in video games on a high not right? With Valentine's Day tomorrow I was expecting things to be very slow and filled with the normal PR bullshit that game developers and publishers send out. You know those little images and quick videos to show how much they supposedly care outside of just wanting our money. 2K was doing is all week for Borderlands. Instead of just all of that though we ended with a nice new Valentine's Day trailer for Until Dawn and some cool Mortal Kombat news. Read More...

Jade Has Been Un-Revealed For Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of February 2015 - 10:01 PM ]
In the recent Mortal Kombat X Kombat Kast it was confirmed that Jade will not be in the game outside of Kitana's moves That may sound a little confusing but yes, Jade will not be in Mortal Kombat X. At least that is in the form of the traditional sense we may be hoping for. She is in Mortal Kombat X in the way of a fighting variation for Kitana as revealed during the most recent Kombat Kast by the team over at NetherRealm Studios. On top of that we also were given a good look at the variations for the two characters that we have yet to have details for. That would be Kitana of course and Reptile. Read More...
