by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of April 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games There we go with another week in video games in the bag. Such an exciting week it was too with so many release announcements and only one delay in the mix. Yes it is still sad that we have to wait just a bit longer for Mirror's Edge Catalyst but we are getting Uncharted 4, Hitman, and The Walking Dead: Michonne here in a few weeks. Not only that but we were able to see LawBreakers and Outlast 2 in motion. Like I said, a lot of highs in video games this week with only one real low. Read More...

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Has Had Its Combat System Reworked
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of April 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Hellblade The latest developer diary for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has dropped and this one goes into a bit more detail on how Hellblade's combat system has been upgraded We've seen how lifelike the characters in Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice are going to look when it comes to all of the motion capture. That was quite a feat that Ninja Theory has pulled off so far so there is a lot more scrutiny going to come their way to make sure the whole game is top notch. To accommodate all of this it looks like they have taken to reworking the combat system for Hellblade a bit and now we have a partial update on how that is all going with their latest developer diary. This Week In Video Games 3/14/16 — 3/18/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of March 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This has been one crazy week for video games hasn't it? We had a whole load of new rumors fly out there and some huge announcements. Could we be getting Red Dead Redemption 2 and a BioShock Collection or is that just wishful thinking? How about the price announcement for the PlayStation VR that came out and then was followed up by a bundle that still greatly undercuts the competition in terms of price. Hells, we also had a nice review for the first episode of Hitman land out there for you. Read More...

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Is The New Name & Making Humans In The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of March 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Hellblade Hellblade has a new name as we are introduced to Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and also shown how the dev team is making a virtual human in the gameplay It looks like we have a new name to settle on for Hellblade as it looks like a subtitle is going to extend it out just a bit further with Senua's Sacrifice. If I had to make an educated guess I'd say this is all based on Ninja Theory finally figuring out exactly where the story of the game is going and what we can expect when it finally hits the PS4 and PC sometime this year. Another great sign as I know I have been excited for Hellblade to come out since I saw the first bit that they ended up scrapping to improve upon. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 29th of January 2016 - 06:00 PM ]
Hellblade The latest Hellblade developer diary has been released and it shows off some of the great work that has been done on Hellblade's movements and controls Here we go with yet another developer diary for Hellblade and this time we are looking at how the movement and controls for the game have been specially crafted by Ninja Theory. It may not sound like it would be that impressive but given the size of the team and what we get to see here you may be singing a different tune. Hopefully you remember that the Hellblade team is still on the small side and with only two animators here. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of January 2016 - 08:00 PM ]
Hellblade It has been confirmed that Hellblade will be releasing during this year and that Hellblade will be hitting the two announced platforms at the same time Due to all of the weird speculation and rumors that the internet has loved for Hellblade there was some concern that the game was going to be delayed until 2017 as Ninja Theory stated that they had to scrap a few things in the recent months. They have come out and explained that and again are out to give us all an update on Hellblade and when it will be released for the PS4 and PC. You know because many gamers out there are hell-bent on stating false things based on an obscure or un-understood quote. Read More...

Senua Gets A New Body In Hellblade With Latest Dev Diary
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
Hellblade The latest developer diary for Hellblade shows off how Senua, the protagonist of Hellblade, has had a body change to better fit their goals When they said they were taking things back to development for Hellblade they really mean it. In the latest developer diary for Hellblade Ninja Theory shows off how they took the original character the designed for the "vertical slice" and gave Senua a complete overhaul to make us see here as more realistic character when Hellblade finally makes it to the PS4. Still no word on when that will be but they sure as Hells are keeping us all informed on Hellblade is shaping up and the huge differences we can expect in the final product than where we saw it before. As I said this is another developer diary and not really new gameplay for Hellblade so those of you who don't happen to care about how your games are made and skip on down the road. Read More...

More Environmental Art From Hellblade To Burn Into Your Eyes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of September 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
A new Environment Art Style Test for Hellblade has been released to show off what some of the levels and areas in Hellblade may end up looking like Last week people were worried that Hellblade was canceled or being completely re-tooled. This week we have another great look at how the production process that Hellblade is going through is coming along. In this instance it is via a nice, short video that Ninja Theory has put out there to show off how some of the game's levels could end up looking when all is said and done. I believe they labeled it all as in-game concept art to let everyone know what Hellblade is currently looking like as the art team moves toward the final versions of all of the assets and lighting effects we will be experiencing when Hellblade hits the PS4. Hellblade Has Not Been Canceled But It's Progressing
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of September 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
Misconceptions of the design process that Hellblade is going through and Tweets from the developer has led many to think Hellblade has been canceled when it is in full swing Concerns about Hellblade being canceled have popped up due to a few of the most recent updates on the development process that Ninja Theory is currently at. To be specific they stated via Twitter that "A vertical slice is a testbed of ideas, not part of the final game. It has been retired and we have started #Hellblade production afresh. Read More...

Look Into The Face Of Madness With New Hellblade Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of August 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
A bit of new gameplay for Hellblade has made its way online in the form of B-Roll footage but it does show off a few things for Hellblade Gamescom may be over now but that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep looking for more news to come out and thus is the case for Hellblade. It looks like some of the B-Roll footage for the game that will be used for all of the "preferred media's" video spotlights for Hellblade has been "leaked" online and then officially posted by Ninja Theory to make sure we all saw this PS4 beauty showing off the elegance of madness. Remember this is what Hellblade is about to some degree as well as mixing in Celtic Mythologies and stories to give us more than a lecture on insanity. That being the other major theme for Hellblade if you know your game history here. Read More...

Dive Into The Madness Of Hellblade With Its New Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 10th of June 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
The first bit of gameplay for Hellblade has been released as well as a bit on Hellblade's story and how it will be looking at mental illness We've been waiting a while for Hellblade to have some gameplay to show off and now the wait is over. The first gameplay trailer is here just in time for E3 and to go along with it and its amazingness Ninja Theory is also giving a taste of what the game's story is going to be all about. I have yet to be let down by a single game that they have brought to market and given what is shown below and talked about Hellblade does not look like it is going to end that streak. I think it has to do with the team always seeming to try and have some thought provoking elements in their games, even if the original story is lifted from other sources, and Hellblade is looking to actually tackle one of my favorite issues with humanity: Mental Illness. Can You Believe Hellblade Has Only One Environment Artist?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of October 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new developer diary has been released for Hellblade and focuses on how there is only one environment artist creating the world of the game When Hellblade was announced for the PS4 back during E3 it looked like Ninja Theory had a huge undertaking they were working toward. The world of Hellblade looked insanely rich to the point that it looked as if all of their other titles could have fit into the game's world here. That is why it is a bit hard to believe their latest developer diary which shows that the world of Hellblade is being built by one artist with a lot of input all around. Yes, you read that, there is only one environmental artist working on this title. Read More...
