Things are afoot out there in the world of Pine Creek, as we get to see just how this new horror title is going to freak us all out a bit further on the PC. This is a new title coming from DREADMITH Games, who wants us to keep looking up to the skies. Sadly, looking up will only lead to us going through another abduction story as it comes to extraterrestrials. As if we haven't had enough of all of that already. Even if it does look as if Pine Creek might take a bit of a lighter approach before we get to the darker stuff along the way. That's all based on the new teaser that we have for the game, so those thoughts might be wrong. We'll have to wait and see how it goes in the future.
As it all looks here, we are going to be heading back into the '80s and to a place called Pine Creek in the game. A place in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania where strange disappearances are happening, and one of them is our wife Sarah. That's where the horror of Pine Creek will come in, as we dive into all the madness this would cause, as well as making sense of why the aliens are doing what they are doing. All as we play through the game using stealth, solving puzzles, and falling deeper into the story that the town is going to offer up. Even if it does look like some of the people involved in the story are going to make things feel like we are riding a weird conspiracy train out there. On an autumn weekend in 1986, you and your wife, Sarah, travel to the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania—home to the small town of Pine Creek, where she grew up. As you approach the town, a radio broadcast reports a series of mysterious disappearances spanning decades.
As night falls, strange things begin to happen. Sarah’s uncle arrives, urging you to follow him to his farm. When you return to your cabin, Sarah is gone.
Throughout the night, you follow the faint signal from Sarah’s pager, trying to find her across the outskirts of Pine Creek — from dark forests and abandoned facilities to forgotten mines beneath the mountains. Strange lights in the sky. Gray aliens that stalk and attempt to abduct you. Characters who may help or hinder your search. And as their secrets unravel, the truth behind Pine Creek’s dark past is finally revealed — and it’s darker than anything you imagined.
