Matcho Gives Us A Bit Of First Contact With New Gameplay

Matcho

The first gameplay for Matcho is here now to show off how Matcho will be shifting the FPS style a bit

Matcho was an interesting concept that was brought up by FiolaSoft Studio not too long ago. You might have seen our bit of coverage on it and how it could be giving us all a new way to look at FPS games beyond just the basic shooting. It is a form of a match-three style of game that is heading to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022 that will still have many of the familiar gameplay elements from FPS titles too. Now, though, we actually get to see Matcho in action and judge on how well this style of play could lend itself not only to the title but the genre to maybe push for more than a single shot from a weapon out there.

The bigger hook for Matcho is that instead of just shooting our way through with guns, or in this game's instance hand blasts, we will need to target three different enemies of the same color so they will all be destroyed. This goes for not only the basic enemies out there, but even some of the boss encounters where we will need to figure out the patterns and colors needed along the way. It all does look a little hectic at first glance, but with what looks like the opening for Matcho, we will be guided along fairly well from all of that, and with the basic parkour/platforming we will also be required to do. It looks like it has a whole lot of potential and something we should all keep a close eye on moving forward.

What are your thoughts on the gameplay for Matcho and do you think it will lead to other developers trying to mix things up further with their gameplay? Could it be a bit too hectic for your liking out there with the need to find three of the same enemies in a row while moving about the world? Will all of the boss fights be about the same that we saw here or will they be shaken up more than we all could have expected along the way? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish. More for Matcho will be up on the site for you all, so please keep checking back for all of that and much, much more.
