Kingdom Hearts
The next few Kingdom Hearts titles have been announced with Kingdom Hearts IV taking the IP even further
Talk about feeling like it comes out of nowhere, as we have an official announcement for Kingdom Hearts IV out there now. Not only an announcement but Square Enix also had quite a bit of gameplay to show us and give us a whole new setting for the IP that goes a little beyond just the Disney aspect of it all. That is at least how it all looks and feels here with the more realistic and photo-realistic visuals we have for Kingdom Hearts here. Even when we see the fights kick off with the Heartless and get to see Sora running around the world. Even when Donald and Goofy show up in the mix too. That is when the game finally digs into the classic visuals but even then, they feel like they are closer to a real aspect. We will certainly get to find out as development continues and we get to find out when and on what platforms the game will finally land on.
This has to be the true highlight of the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary, we also had two other titles shown off and slated for August of this year. They do look like they will be expanding the world and story through mobile and non-traditional platforms for the IP. I am talking about Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road and Missing-Link. They do look like they will have some true and original stories mixed right in. As if it was not already overly convoluted and confusing up to now already. Maybe it will be able to bring it all back into a normal state and make it easier to keep the flow going for those that do not have the patience to try to figure it all out too.
Kingdom Hearts — 20th Anniversary Announcements
As part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Square Enix and Disney announced that Kingdom Hearts IV, the newest installment in the beloved RPG series, is in early development, and also revealed a brand-new mobile game, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link.
In the announcement trailer, Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the “Lost Master Arc.” Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world, unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.
Fans can also look forward to Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, an all-new game for iOS and Android devices, which allows players to embark on adventures from the realm of Scala ad Caelum into the real world. Players will be able to engage in exhilarating battles against the Heartless and discover a new, original story. A closed beta test is planned for 2022.
Additionally, the Kingdom Hearts team announced that the highly anticipated final chapter of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will be released in August 2022 as a free update to the Kingdom Hearts Union χ Dark Road app.
Are you shocked to find out that Kingdom Hearts IV is going to be a thing now and will it lean further into the real side of things? Do you think we are going to see Hades back in the mix for this one or will it be a different villain we are going to see here? Do you think these other titles will be able to make things make a bit more sense or will it just get more confusing as it all flows out? Give us all of those thoughts and feelings about this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish. More for Kingdom Hearts will be out there and we will have it all here. Please keep checking in for all of that and everything else we will have to offer up here.
