A new racing game, Disney Speedstorm, is on the way with the same kind of battles we have before just with Disney characters
Get those engines revving, as we have Disney Speedstorm racing onto the scene here with the latest announcement. This would be the next title to come from Gameloft that is heading to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Well, at least that is what is to be assumed from the announcement as of yet. Not to be assumed, is that this will offer us all a nice little joyride through the game world blasting each other so we can be first. All while taking control of our favorite Disney character in the mix too. All of which is slated to launch this year (2022) and as a free-to-play title out there. That is where the rub might be coming in for now…
Sadly, this is about as much as we have for the announcement for Disney Speedstorm. The following trailer does offer up a very small look at the gameplay and it does sound like we will be able to play with anyone no matter the platform they are on too. The roster of characters and lands we will race in are also limited, but there is the promise of more Disney and Pixar characters to come. So far it is only Mickey, Sulley, Beast, Mulan, and Jack Sparrow with worlds inspired by each IP in the mix. Granted, this is just the basic announcement and there is still a whole lot of year left to go through. That is where I think we will see more of the bulk flow out with a massive push during some of the online gaming conventions still taking place.

Gameloft, a leader in the development and publishing of games, is thrilled to announce Disney Speedstorm, a new cross-playable arcade racing experience, unveiled during Nintendo Direct. Players race and battle each other on stunning tracks inspired by Disney and Pixar films, mastering each racer’s unique skills to claim victory. Developed by Gameloft Barcelona, home to the Asphalt series, Disney Speedstorm is slated to launch free-to-play on PC and consoles in 2022.
Disney Speedstorm is a hero-based combat racing game featuring iconic Disney and Pixar heroes and villains reimagined as high-speed road warriors, with racetracks inspired by their unique worlds. An incredible lineup of racers will include Captain Jack Sparrow, Mulan, Mickey Mouse, Sulley, the Beast, and more, suited up and revving up for racing action. Upgrade each racer’s stats and make the most of their unique skills, which can impact the outcome of a single race and dramatically change the way to play!
From the docks of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean to the wilds of The Jungle Book, and even racing on the Great Wall of China seen in Mulan or the Scare Floor from Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., players can experience these worlds from a fresh, exciting perspective geared specifically for racing!
