Black Myth
A new video for Black Myth: Wukong is out for the Lunar New Year that jokes about some of the Black Myth development
It is the year of the Tiger for the Lunar New Year and that means that the team behind Black Myth: Wukong has opted to give us a fun new update for the game that is trying to highlight that. I say trying, as Game Science is having more fun for the celebration while still working on the game instead of giving us a true and solid update for the game. Thankfully, Black Myth: Wukong is still in the works for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC even if the video does joke that the studio shut down. We can ignore that and see some of the funny side of them trying to capture quadruped's motion for the game. Even if this is more of a joke than a true update for us all to take in.
That all said, what we have here for Black Myth is more in lines that the game is still in the works. There also looks like there is a bit of new gameplay in the mix of it all too. Very little as they lean heavily in on the motion capture with cats and how it could look if they use the basic motions from it all. I have a feeling that this is a bit of a joke but a bit of how things will work out in Black Myth too. This just happens to be the stuff that will be hitting the cutting room floor or the first iterations of the animations too. Have a look and see what you think about all of this and if it will actually be in the final version of it all.
Black Myth: Wukong — An Alternate Reality Of Game Science
Take a funny trip behind the scenes into an alternate reality in this new Black Myth: Wukong Comedy film. Here developer Game Science takes us through a bizarre, fictional version of Black Myth: Wukong’s development, from joking about using cats to help with animation, to some new (and definitely not final) gameplay. The featurette serves as a New Years greeting from the team.
How do you feel about this update for Black Myth: Wukong here and does it scratch the itch you have for now? Do you think that we will get some of these animations in the mix or was this all as a fun update and nothing more? How easy do you think it would truly be to motion capture cats or would it be easier to go with a different animal for it all? Give us all of your thoughts on this and more down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. More for Black Myth: Wukong will be on the way, so be sure to keep checking back in here for all of that and much, much more.
