Dying Light
See how some pros could fair if Dying Light were to come to light as they help promote the pending release for Dying Light 2
Playing titles like Dying Light 2 will always let us have those power fantasies on how well we could do if the real world did go to shit. We all have high hopes we would be those amazing heroes and able to outrun all of the threats out there. It looks like Techland wants to dash some of those dreams here and make sure we know that Dying Light 2 is just a video game. All through the method of showing off how professional parkour runners would do in a light setting from the game. All while reminding us that the game will be coming to have us try to stay human in the virtual setting just a bit longer now.
It might sound like some of this is in jest, and it is, but this new video shows off the team of STORROR as they run a challenge similar to one we would encounter in Dying Light 2. The difference being that this one is set up in the real world and with actors playing the infected. So, it may not be as accurate as it could be to the game truly coming to life. Especially when you see how one of them makes a mistake that triggers the rest of the high-paced fun. That is not to say that it is not fun to watch and see how far the team is going to sell us on picking up Dying Light 2. I know I would still rather watch these pros do it here while I get ready to play the video game. I know my physical limits here.
Dying Light 2 — Parkour POV Escape
Putting our action POV skills to the test in collaboration with Dying Light 2.
If you are craving a bit more for this and Dying Light 2, then here is a follow-up video for the one you hopefully just watched. It is a sit-down interview with the humans from STORROR and the dev team talking about the movements and parkour used in the game. Most of which is inspired by the movements of one of parkour's legends out there. At least someone that this team knows and respects. They even tried to pull off some of it in the above video to try to express how close Dying Light 2 would be for many of the sport runners we have here. It is interesting and also good to know for the realism side of things.
Dying Light 2 — Storror Interview
Meet STORROR — a collective of seven athletes renowned for their world-class parkour skills and video production from Britain. This time, Techland and the Storror team collaborated to create an unusual combination of their amazing skills with a film plot, all inspired by the post-apocalyptic world of Dying Light 2.
How well do you think you would fare when it comes to something like this out of Dying Light 2? Do you like seeing these performances made for our video games or would you rather still see gameplay and be told how close it is to the real world? Would you be interested in giving all of this a try even on a smaller scale to see if you could survive the infected or will you just stick to your video games? Give us all of that feedback down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If we have more for Dying Light 2, you know it will go up on the site for you. Just keep a close eye for all of that as we get closer to launch.
