Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is now heading to the Switch too as we get more Ninja Turtles fighting action and gameplay to enjoy
It may feel odd that we had to wait, but we now have some gameplay for the coming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. This would be the new title that Tribute Games is aiming to bring us to the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and now the Switch. The gameplay was shown during the recent showcase for the platform and gives us all the feeling of how that classic arcade Ninja Turtles title played out so long ago. All of which teased when this one was first announced and now we can see how it will actually play out there. At least with a few smaller tidbits to highlight each of the turtles out there and some of the enemies we will have to fight in this brawler. It will all feel a little familiar for those that may be old enough to remember what we are talking about here.
Here we get to see Mikey, Leo, Raph, and Donny as they walk through the 2D levels and all of the classic Ninja Turtles look to it all. Even the look of it all seems to be a button mash of hitting left and right with different attacks and also a few jumping moves too. Just what some of us out there will be able to remember to relive some of those glory days and frustration. The rest of you out there might not think it looks all that appealing, but that has always been the case with the whole Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IP since it first launched out there. Even if this is more of the cartoon look and feel than that darker and grittier comic lines. That is where I would love to see one of these games go to.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge — Gameplay
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is bringing its classically inspired brawling action to Nintendo Switch!
During the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Tribute Games Co-Founder Jean-Francois Major and Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert confirmed the heroes in a half-shell are chasing the Foot Clan to Switch before sharing new gameplay. The Turtles unleash radical special moves and gnarly combos in the footage, bashing foes throughout areas reminiscent of classic TMNT games such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge’s lively battles are backed by original music from Tee Lopes, a composer and arranger previously featured in Sonic Mania, League Of Legends, and Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom among other releases. A sample of Lopes’ wickedly energetic melodies can be heard in today’s gameplay trailer.
Does this all match up to how you thought this Ninja Turtles game was going to go after the announcement or is it shocking to you somehow? Do you think it will play out as the classic arcade game played before or will there be some changes to it all at the end of it all? Would you like to see a darker and comic book-based version of the IP hit as a game or will it always be the cartoon and friendly version we will see? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is more for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, we will have it on the site for you. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much, much more.
