These delays just will not quit, as now we have another delay for Cuphead's upcoming DLC The Delicious Last Course. Another delay in terms of video games as a whole and another one in terms of StudioMDHR delaying this DLC one more time before we get to experience it. It is most likely that will not be seeing this final chapter of Cuphead until next year now and when the studio feels like they are bringing us the best conclusion that they can for the Xbox One, PC, Switch, and PS4 out there. Not the worst call to make, but it is one that strikes at the hearts of gamers all over that fell in love with this fun little title.
As you most likely have guessed by now, this delay is here because of the global pandemic that has hit everyone hard and has forced us to wait for the happiness that Cuphead could have brought us all. Not the biggest of surprises, but it is one more blow to all gamers out there that need more to escape into. I, for one, am okay with this delay for Cuphead as it is going to give us the conclusion to it all that we will want and have been expecting. I do not want that kind of thing rushed or forced when we can all hunker down just a bit longer and get an amazing experience just a few more months down the line.
Cuphead — The Delicious Last Course
While the Delicious Last Course is a continuation of Cuphead and Mugman's grand adventure, it's also a conclusion to the story that began on that fateful day at The Devil's casino.
In true StudioMDHR fashion, we aren't content for this final chapter to be anything less than our best work. Throughout development, we've challenged ourselves to put everything we learned from making Cuphead into the quality of The Delicious Last Course's animation, design, and music.
Meeting this standard has been extremely challenging for us amid the global pandemic that has affected so many of our fellow developers. Rather than compromise on our vision in response to COVID, we've made the difficult decision to push back the release of The Delicious Last Course until we are confident it will delight the Cuphead community the way we feel it should.
We know many of you have been waiting to return to the Inkwell Isles, and our goal is to make the trip back there next year a truly magical one.
With our warmest regards,
Chad & Jared Moldenhauer
Will this delay be pushing you off from giving Cuphead more of your time or will you be loading up the base game yet again now that we have been reminded that it is still out there? Do you think this will be the final delay for this DLC or could we see it kicked down the line a few more times before we get to experience it all? Is this a little shocking given the last delay we had or does it all just fall in line with how the year has gone in general? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If there is more for Cuphead to share, we will share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking back for all of that and more.
