Star Wars
The first real gameplay for Star Wars: Squadrons is here to give us a solid taste of what is going to come in this upcoming Star Wars title
Not long after we had the announcement for Star Wars: Squadrons, we now have a look at the gameplay we are going to get to experience in the game here. Why EA did not just give this to us in the first place is beyond me, but now we can see how the game is going to flow for us on October 2nd this year. Motive Studios has obviously put a whole lot into this Star Wars title and now we can get a good look at it all. At least as good of a look as we can with someone else being the stick of the different ships we will get to pilot in the game and in the various modes that will be coming at launch.
Star Wars: Squadrons is a 5v5 dogfighting game with eight different ship types to choose from. Four for each side of the conflict. Thankfully, they will be mostly customizable so they can all feel fresh when playing through the campaign and multiplayer modes here. Also as the different pilots, we will be able to unlock through playing the campaign and multiplayer modes. Hopefully, it will stay that way and not slip into the same issues we saw in other Star Wars titles that came out. Especially given how vast this list can be and how many of the things look to be cosmetic over the 50 different gameplay modifications we can get.
It does look like the multiplayer modes are a bit on the lighter side of things as there looks to only be two listed here for Star Wars: Squadrons so far. The aforementioned dogfights we have listed above and another siege type mode that will take place in waves. Starting with a dogfight, then shifting to take down a few larger defensive ships of the side that lost the dogfight, and then leading to taking down the loser's flagship. I am not sure how it will work based on the various different ways these fights could end, but I have a feeling we can look at other titles from the publisher on how it will work in Star Wars: Squadrons. Advantages for those that win the subsequent matches but lose the starting ones.

Are you more excited for Star Wars: Squadrons after all of this or will you need to see more to get a better feel for it all? Do you think that we are going to run the risk of those microtransactions as before or will it all be available to unlock as they say? Is it odd to have so few ship options based on the number of players the game is focused on? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is more to share for Star Wars: Squadrons, we will share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking in here for more as we get closer to the launch.
