PS5
The PlayStation 5 hardware is now out there to give us a taste of what the future might be with two different PlayStation 5 options
Here we go with the official reveal for the PS5 after a nice long event that Sony just held for it all. The one thing that everyone has been waiting for, outside of the price, we now have and it looks like some of those PlayStation 5 rumors and images were kind of correct. As you can see, the PS5 is going to be going with the white color scheme and using a lot more contours to it all. All of which is something that gamers have been loving or hating given how human nature is. Why we are caring about the external look of the hardware is a bit beyond me in an era of case modding, but it is worth noting it all and having a fun look at.
The more interesting aspect of this PS5 reveal is the fact that we are getting two versions of it at launch. Not in the usual scheme of hard drive space as usual, but it looks like there will be a digital version and a disk version. You can read that as that one will have a 4K Blu-ray drive and one will not. If the hard drive space will be different between the two is still yet to be seen, but it would make sense that there would be some kind of difference between each here. Also, if one PS5 will be more expensive or not is still to be seen too. At least we have a look now and all of the controllers, docks, cameras, headphones, and remotes that will also be available at launch.
PS5 — Hardware Reveal
At launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation 5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition without a disc drive. The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation.
What do you think about the look of the PS5 here or are you in the boat that it truly does not matter here? Do you suspect that the digital version will have a larger disk drive or will it just be a cheaper option with the removal of the Blu-ray drive? Will you be aiming to just mod the case at the end of the day or will you be keeping the sleek and curvy look when you get it? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. Obviously, there will be many more updates for the PS5 and we will keep it all coming to you here on the site. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that and much more.
