The Last Campfire
New gameplay for The Last Campfire is here to show off just how things are going to flow throughout The Last Campfire world
The big gameplay drop for The Last Campfire has happened and we now have about five minutes of footage to take in and enjoy. All of which came out when Hello Games showed it off on the Xbox One during the big event held for the system. That is not to say that The Last Campfire is no longer coming to the PS4, Switch, and PC still as it still is but it is worth noting so you know what platform you are seeing the footage from. It matters to a whole lot of you out there and now you can sit pretty knowing where it is all coming from. Rejoice and get ready for the fun.
The footage for The Last Campfire here is not all that groundbreaking in terms of differing from other platformers we have seen in a similar style before. The bigger look we have is at how the art style is being used to not only enthrall us but tell other subtle stories in the background of it all while moving from puzzle to puzzle. Something that will also feel familiar as we move through The Last Campfire but also scale up in difficulty as we go along. Weird that had to be mentioned specifically as it should be a normal thing in puzzle games, but it was noted and we are noting it here before you head down to just watch it for yourself.
The Last Campfire — 1st Look GamePlay
Steven Burgess, Lead Designer on The Last Campfire, talks us through the motivations for making the game over the first few minutes of exclusive gameplay.
What are your thoughts on the art style for The Last Campfire as we have seen here and before? Do you think it will be interesting to see how the story of the world expands in that way or would you rather just have exposition dumps all over the place instead? Do you find it odd that they mentioned the puzzles as they did given how they should go or does that hint at something else going on in the game? Let us know all of that and more down in the comments. For more on The Last Campfire, be sure to keep checking back here. We will keep bringing you all that we can when we can.
