Terminator
An announcement for Terminator: Resistance is here to take us all into a new first-person ride set deep in the Terminator franchise
It feels like this should have come a bit earlier, but here we are with an announcement for Terminator: Resistance to hit us this coming December 3rd. That would be for the North American region, as it will be hitting the EU and Australian markets on November 15th. Quite a bit of a gap there, but it is how Teyon is going for here. Either way you are going with it, Terminator: Resistance is bringing us a new first-person shooting game for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC all set in the same story from the first two films we have loved for a while now. Take that as it will not be a direct tie-in for the upcoming film at all. Just taking advantage of the popularity of the time.
In Terminator: Resistance, we will be taking on the role of Jacob Rivers who is part of the Pacific division of the Resistance trying to keep humanity alive in the wake of Judgement Day. Just like every other human out there, he has been marked for termination by SKYNET but that will not stop him from fighting on. He will not be to the level of John Connor in the Terminator world here, but I have a feeling he will play some kind of a bigger role than we think. Have a look at the announcement trailer we have here for the game and see just how well it is being put together to keep us all going. It does look like it can be fun even though a basic looking FPS title as always.
Terminator: Resistance — Announcement
Terminator: Resistance is a single-player first-person shooter developed by Teyon. It features an original story based on the film rights for legendary motion-pictures ‘The Terminator’ and ‘T2: Judgment Day’. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, nearly 30 years after Judgment Day, and expands upon the Future War glimpsed at in the iconic films from James Cameron, ‘The Terminator’ and ‘T2: Judgment Day’.
Terminator: Resistance introduces a new hero, Jacob Rivers, a soldier in the Resistance Pacific Division. Despite the fact that Jacob is just a private, he’ll soon discover that he’s been targeted by the latest threat from SKYNET and marked for termination! SKYNET may be destined to lose this war, but at what cost to Jacob? Experience the events leading up to the decisive final battle, smash SKYNET’s Defence Grid and help decide the fate of mankind in the war against the machines!
Are you surprised that we are getting a Terminator game here or does it feel like it should have come a bit sooner? Do you think that Jacob will be the new hero of this version of the story and timeline or will he just be linked back some other way? Do you think it will be a tie-in to the new film in ways other than names and basics? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we learn more for Terminator: Resistance, we will add it all to the site for you. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much more.
