Monstrum
Monstrum II has been officially announced and will be carrying on everything from the original Monstrum into the next generation
It feels like it was not that long ago that we were here talking about the original Monstrum making its way out for the PS4 and Xbox One, and now we are here with the announcement for Monstrum II. To my knowledge, the prior is still in the works from Junkfish, but that will not change the fact that we are getting the sequel here by the end of next year. At least for the PC gamers. The current gen and next gen console gamers will have to look out for Monstrum II to land sometime after that. Kind of like the current wait for the original.
With that all said, there is really not much more to take in for Monstrum II. We have a nice little teaser here to let us know it is coming, but nothing in terms of the rogue-lite gameplay and how things will be procedurally generated in the labyrinth in the game. All of which you can see below, but do not expect much more for Monstrum II as of yet. Just know it is coming and should be here by the end of next year. Plenty of time to replay the original on the PC or wait for the console version of that one to drop and then experience. However you want to do your games and all.
Monstrum II — Announcement
The long-awaited sequel to the hugely successful rogue-lite horror game Monstrum will be coming to PC in 2020.
Junkfish are proud to announce Monstrum II, a direct multiplayer sequel to Monstrum. The terrifying rogue-like survival horror set at sea was released on PC in 2015; Quickly becoming a fan favorite for streamers, let’s players and horror game enthusiasts worldwide.
Monstrum II pits players against terrifying monsters that are controlled by other players in procedurally generated horror labyrinth. The survivors must escape the grotesque experiment taking place onboard the decaying 1970’s era sea fortress, all the time whilst evading the horrors within.
Players will have to think on their feet and adapt to a dynamic, open-ended horror playground. It’s down to you how you tactically exploit the different environmental and gameplay challenges generated with each playthrough, regardless of if you’re playing as the survivors, or as one of the deadly oceanic monstrosities hunting them down.
There are countless solutions to the ever-changing obstacles in Monstrum II, whether you’re using scavenged items to access hidden routes; brutally smashing through destructible objects; climbing the environment to ambush your prey; working cooperatively with your fellow survivors to reach important equipment, or going solo and hiding to gracefully avoid detection.
Monstrum II will launch on PC late 2020, with plans for current and next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles to follow.
