So when they announced that they were hooking up the Wii with Rock Band and Rock Band 2, I questioned how those users would be able to enjoy some of the great DLC for the game. Seeing as there was very limited space built into the Wii system, there is not that make room for the game to grow. Well it would seem that this was an issue that SanDisk decided to fix.
Looks like they are placing out a proprietary card specifically for you to download more songs for the game onto. Claiming about 75+ songs per disk is a good start for this. It is only a matter of time before they kick out a larger one. But for about $13 bucks, you can't complain if you really want some DLC for the Wii. As of now, there is no official date on release, but it is prospected for some time during the Spring. Below are the specs.
- Transfer and store more music game content on your SanDisk® "Rock Band 2" 2GB* SD gaming card
- Download your favorite songs from the greatest bands ever**
- Store 75 or more Rock Band songs***
- Compatible with Wii™ gaming systems
** Requires Rock Band 2 for Wii software and WiFi connection. Download fees may apply.
*** Based on Rock Band game music files of 24MB in size.
