There has never been any doubt that World War Z was not going to be a single-player only style game. It can be played that way, sure, but it has always been focused on as a Co-Op experience for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC from Saber Interactive. It is always safer to go out there with a team in any form of a zombie apocalypse. More so when you dig into the lore and story of World War Z in general. But we are looking at video games here and now we get to see that the game will also house some multiplayer in the way of Player Vs Player Vs Zombies now. You knew it was all coming at some point. Do not lie.
That is right. World War Z will now have multiple multiplayer modes to expand out the game beyond just the basic campaign mode of it all. We will have five different modes with different objectives to play through where we will take on other players but also need to manage the swarms of undead moving about the maps and world. Some of the modes make it sound like we will need to use them to our advantage as certain points too. Hence the PvPvZ. Although it will be a bit more interesting to see how many other players can be added in as World War Z is set up as a four-player style of game in general. I do not suspect it will be much more than that.
World War Z — Player VS Player VS Zombies
Survive heart-pounding PvPvZ multiplayer action in Saber Interactive’s World War Z.
Face off against other players and the undead in a range of bloody modes and #OutliveThemAll later this year on consoles and PC.
Saber Interactive has released a new trailer showing off the fast-paced and exciting gameplay of Players vs Players vs Zombies (PvPvZ) in World War Z, the highly anticipated game inspired by Paramount Pictures’ blockbuster action film. While World War Z’s core four-player co-op pits you against relentless swarms of AI zombies, PvPvZ offers a completely unique experience, challenging you to outlive both the living and the dead across a variety of competitive modes designed for 4v4 combat.
What separates PvPvE in World War Z from other multiplayer games is the zombie swarm, which storms the arena throughout the match, forcing players to battle both each other and the undead and allowing the tide of the fight to turn in an instant. World War Z will launch with the following multiplayer modes:
Are you excited to see that World War Z will be getting some more multiplayer modes added in or do you think that we should have stayed with the co-op stuff instead? Do think we will get to have more than four players in matches here or will that be the limitation given the core design? How many modes will make us actually control swarms and not just sound like we will have to do so? Let us know your thoughts on those and everything else for World War Z. As more for the game comes out, we will add it here to the site. We need to keep you as informed as possible here.
