Power Rangers
The announcement for Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid has been made and soon Power Rangers fans will have their own fighting game to play and experience
A new fighting game is entering the mix as we now have Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid announced for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Currently, it is slated for April of this year, but we will have to wait and see if nWay Games is able to bring it to us by then. There are pre-orders open for it right now that add in extra Power Rangers and skins if you want to do that. That will be on you as this game seems to be coming out of nowhere and bringing back a franchise that felt like it had moved to a smaller subset of the culture we have here. It has been an extremely long time since I remember the Rangers IP being large enough to necessitate a fighting game. It is coming though.
All of that aside, it does look like Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid will be bringing along a nice look at something we have all been waiting for. That would be cross-play for the platforms mentioned here. All in real-time when we want to fight against them online. This has been something announced as in the works and offered up by developers just recently and now will be a focal point of this game. If anyone can do it, I guess it could be the Power Rangers. Those are words I never thought I would put together since I stopped watching the original show so long ago. Here is to hoping they do it all well.
Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid — Announcement
Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid is an easy to learn but hard to master fighting game that delivers a modern take on the Power Rangers franchise. The game features stunning graphics with vivid details and pits new and classic Rangers and villains against each other in team battles. Featuring a streamlined combat system, the game welcomes newcomers to the genre with simplified controls, while maintaining depth and detail for more intense and experienced competitors. Players will be challenged to test their skills online against friends and other players around the world, providing endless replayability. With new content and game modes releasing throughout the year, the game will continuously offer the community new ways to play and compete.
With cross-play across multiple platforms, all players whether on Xbox One, Switch, or PC, will be in the same player pool and will have the ability to compete against each other in real-time. Even when players change their platform, their mission progress they have worked to achieve will still be available to them, allowing for cross-progression and true seamless gameplay no matter where they play.
Are you excited to hear about a new fighting game with the Power Rangers or does it feel a bit too outside of the norm for now? Do you think it will do a decent job of mixing in the heroes and the villain across the multiple versions of the franchise? How well do you think the cross-play will work given how new it technically is? Give us those thoughts down in the comments and discuss.
