Red Dead Redemption
The times and dates for Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode have been set and some will have required you to play Red Dead Redemption 2 at certain points
The rumors and murmurs look to be true as it looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 will be getting its online beta here soon. Soon as in tomorrow (11/27) for those who have been playing and enjoying this massive game that Rockstar Games has gifted us all. Well, that is at least if you were one of those gamers who picked up the Ultimate Edition of Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4 or Xbox One you will be playing in this online beta as they are opting to go with a weird staggered timeline for access to this beta. Do not worry if that does not fit who you are as you will get your chance, you may just need to wait a bit depending on when you picked up the game and or played it.
As it turns out, those Ultimate Edition owners will go first, but then followed up each day by more players added in based on when they all started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and ending with all owners of the game. My guess is that if you fall into all of the categories you will be able to play the game on each day this week. As it is shown below, though, if you played on launch day you will be able to get in on Wednesday (11/28). Then if you played during launch week you will be in on Thursday (11/29). All of which leads to the Friday access that will include any and all who currently own a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 and want to see how the online play will go.
Access begins on each day at the following times: 8:30am EST | 5:30am PT | 1:30pm UK | 2:30pm Europe
- Tuesday, November 27: All Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition owners
- Wednesday, November 28: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th according to Rockstar data
- Thursday, November 29: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between October 26th to October 29th according to Rockstar data
- Friday, November 30: All players who own Red Dead Redemption 2
With the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as its foundation, Red Dead Online transforms the vast and deeply detailed landscapes, cities, towns, and habitats of Red Dead Redemption 2 into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players. Create and customize your character, tailor your abilities to suit your play style, and head out into a new frontier full of things to experience.
Explore this huge world solo or with friends. Form or join a posse to ride with up to seven players; gather around the fire at your camp; head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole posses in open world challenges and much more.
As a reminder, this is all a beta test for the online mode for Red Dead Redemption 2 and not something looks to be fully ready for launch. At least as of the original posting of this. It could all be prep for an actual launch real soon, but this is a "beta" and not an official launch. Unless Rockstar Games opts to leave it in beta forever to explain an unpolished or unfinished version for fans to always be experiencing. It is not like we have not seen other titles or franchises do the same in the past. I guess we will all see when Red Dead Redemption fans get their access and dig into it all.
Will you be joining in on the beta here for Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode on day one or will you have to wait? How close to a final product do you think we are going to get here or will it stay in beta for a while after this event? Does any of this even matter to you and will you just be waiting until it is in a final form before joining in? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When there is more for Red Dead Redemption 2, we will have it all here. Just be sure to stick around to see it all.
