New York City Will Be Our Open Playground In Spider-Man

Spider-Man

A new video for the upcoming Spider-Man game is here to show us more of the in-game city we will be swinging around as Spider-Man

Just as we thought we were not going to be seeing more of Spider-Man before its launch on September 7th, here we go with just a little more. Not much more as there is still a lot hidden away by Insomniac Games, but more in the way of the location and world we will be swinging around in. Anyone who knows Spider-Man, in general, knows we will be based in New York City and that means there should be a lot of iconic buildings and structures to keep an eye out for in the game. Well, it does not mean it but it is something we should do as we are swinging around with our PS4 controllers.

In the latest trailer for Spider-Man here, we get to see more of the in-game New York City and just what it will be filled with. We will have the obvious real-world stuff that we should always expect as it makes it feel like New York when you see it. It also looks like they are not shying away from the other Marvel locations here though as we get to see Spider-Man swing past the Sanctum Sanctorum of Doctor Strange. Also, we get to see Pete take a swan dive off of the Avengers/Stark Tower. So far it has been made clear that this is a Spider-Man game and not a full Marvel one, so do not expect to be able to search around or meet the characters inside. It is just a Marvel world though so these icons needed to be added just as we would expect places like the Empire State Building.

Spider-Man — New York City Open-World

A new look at some of the open-world sites recreated from real-life New York City and (and some that only exist in the Marvel universe).

Are you glad to see that Insomniac Games will be keeping all of these iconic buildings in there for Spidey to play with? Do you think we may have some missions that will require us to go into them but still stay focused where the game should be? What other locations from the Marvel universe do you think we will run into and can we get a haircut at Pop's Barber Shop? Let us know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more for Spider-Man, as it seems there could be, we will have it all here. Just be sure to keep checking back in on the site to see and hear it all.
