Mafia 3
New details on Mafia 3's story DLC have popped up and we can all look to see Mafia 3 change a bit before the end of July this year
It's hard to imagine that Mafia 3 has been out for so long already and just when you think it is safe to put the fun all behind you…they pull you back in. Sure there have been a few updates here and there with a bit of DLC pumped out from Hangar 13 but the real substance people have been waiting for is to expand the story. That could be just me but that doesn't change the fact that 2K Games has helped it finally come to a reality as Mafia 3 will be getting three new story expansions before the end of July this year. This totally makes that Season Pass purchase worthwhile now and we have some timelines to look forward to now.
All three have been named and given a general description for now and it looks like Lincoln will have a lot more to do in Mafia 3 once all of the dust settles from before. A crime boss' work is never truly done and it looks like the favors are coming in now. Before the end of March we will be taking on Faster, Baby! which will have us joining up with a sister-in-arms to take down a corrupt sheriff and fight for Civil Rights. Then in May we will leave Stones Unturned as Donovan has called on for some help with an old blood feud from Vietnam. Then to wrap it all up in July we will see a Sign Of The Times and ritual kills will be a thing in Mafia 3 and Father James needs us to put an end to it all.
-
Faster, Baby! (End of March 2017)
Fast cars, dramatic chases, and epic stunt driving take center stage as Lincoln joins forces with Roxy Laveau, a sister-in-arms out to take down a corrupt Sheriff terrorizing Civil Rights activists on the outskirts of New Bordeaux.
-
Stones Unturned (May 2017)
When a merciless rival resurfaces in New Bordeaux, Lincoln must join forces with CIA agent John Donovan to settle a blood feud that began in the war-torn jungles of Vietnam.
-
Sign of the Times (July 2017)
A string of ritualistic killings has New Bordeaux on the edge of terror. At Father James’ request, Lincoln agrees to hunt down the cult responsible, a quest that will take him from the dark heart of the old bayou to the drug-ridden counterculture of the inner city.
Besides just story, it looks like these new story expansions for Mafia 3 will bring us to new parts of New Bordeaux that have yet to be explored in the core game. Not just in theme but also in physical location. At least these are the words of Hangar 13's narrative director and when asked about the story. It also looks like each of these will be a direct linear experience instead of free-form as we had in Mafia 3 proper but I am completely okay with that as it means that we all get more to experience besides the usual car chases and minor odd jobs. That is if you've already made it through the game and a few subsequent plays just to round out your experience.
Are you excited to see the story DLC for Mafia 3 finally coming or have you already moved on to other titles to pass the time? How extensive do you think each of these will be or will they only be short little snips to expand only a little more of the game's world? Do you think that the team will be able to hit the proposed timelines or will we have to keep bugging 2K Games for updates as deadlines might get missed? Let us know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss as you wish. As more on Mafia 3 or any of its DLC is released, we will have it here for you. Be sure to keep checking into the site to make sure that you are completely in the know.
