It was announced at E3 and now out of QuakeCon this year we have our first bit of gameplay for Prey to gaze upon and see how the reboot is going. I have no doubt that Arkane Studios is going to do an amazing job with this iteration of the game given their past but it is nice to be able to see it all in action. Great minds think alien here as Bethesda has given us that taste of Prey that we are all looking for as we wait until 2017 for it to finally land on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. At least that would be the easiest of the platforms to assume the game will come to.
I'll let you have a look at the gameplay for Prey here and get a feel for the new direction that the game is going to head in. It looks and feels a lot like many other titles like it from the past although apparently there is an extra level of psychological thriller mixed into it somewhere. That makes it sound like this whole game could just be in the head of the main character here in Prey but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Having alien powers spliced into our DNA could make anyone go wacko I guess and we'll see just how.
Prey — Official Gameplay
Prey is a first-person sci-fi action game from Arkane Studios, the award-winning creators of the 2012 ‘Game of the Year’, Dishonored. Known for their creative gameplay, distinctive worlds and immersive stories, Arkane reimagines this franchise from the ground up, with an added psychological twist. In Prey, you are the first human enhanced with alien powers aboard a desolate space station under assault. Improvise and innovate in order to survive as you search for answers. Prey is a bold new story set in a dangerous universe.
What are your thoughts on what we have here for the new Prey that is being crafted here? Do you think this will do better than just doing a sequel as the original rumors stated before? How crazy do you think things will get in the story here based on that knowledge? Let us know your thoughts and feelings down in the comments and feel free to discuss. For more on Prey as it flows out there, be sure to stay right here on the site. We'll have it all up here as we can and hopefully more out of QuakeCon.
