Only a few weeks ago did we catch wind that Layers Of Fear: Inheritance was coming as a nice little DLC for the original horror title from Bloober Team. It is slated for an August 2nd release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC still but it looks like Aspyr Media has some new screen shots for us to look at and see how we are going to dig into the Artist's daughter's psyche in the game. That is what this little bit of Layers Of Fear DLC is going to be all about and it looks like another fun and creepy addition into the realm. Hopefully we will get more of the smaller stature play that the trailer teased before.
The new screenshots for Layers Of Fear: Inheritance here also show more of that a bit but also all of the childlike experiences we can look forward to in the DLC. Also a bit with Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf of some sorts but this could just be more horrible imagery than any kind of real story to go along with it all. If memory serves we had these bits in the first game though the eyes of the Artist but now I need to replay and double check. If anything it will be here in some form so I guess we'll have it none the less.
It also looks like Layers Of Fear: Inheritance will also be bringing us a new flashlight mechanic to the game as well. There isn't much in terms of how it will work or if it will stay throughout the whole mini-game but it was mentioned. Specifically mentioned, and it makes sense, that it may mysteriously go out at some keep point during the adventure. Just as we should assume in almost all horror titles that feature that saving grace. It really is a staple of the genre isn't it and I have a feeling that Layers Of Fear wouldn't want to skip out on just that.
What do you think of the new Layers Of Fear: Inheritance screens we have here? Do you still think this will be a great addition into the IP or just another cash grab with DLC? Do you agree that we are going to see the new flashlight go out or is that all PR mumbo-jumbo to entice and excite? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For more on Layers Of Fear in any form be sure to stay right here on the site. We'll keep bringing it all as they keep developing it all for us. You won't want to miss a thing.
