Mafia 3’s Collector’s Edition Announced & Bringing The Playboys Back

Mafia 3

The Mafia 3 Collector’s Edition has been announced and also that Mafia 3 will be bringing back the Playboy collectibles in game

Just like every other huge game out there it looks like Mafia 3 is also getting a Collector’s Edition and 2K Games was completely ready to bring us all of the details. Not only that but it looks like there is an extra bit that blends the physical and the digital that Hangar 13 has crafted for us in the way of Playboys. They will be back in Mafia 3 but as it turns out it will be in a greater capacity when the game launches on October 7th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Although I most likely have your head swimming with that little tidbit just calm down and read.

As I said Mafia 3 has a Collector’s Edition up and ready for your pre-order if that is how you want to roll. It will house a special packaging just for the edition, the traditional art book for the game, the Season Pass that is coming with it, as well as the traditional in game item made physical in terms of Lincoln's Dog Tags and some nice drink coasters. What truly sets this apart though is that there will also be two vinyl records with the official soundtrack for the game as well as the game score. For all of those who still have a way to play all of that at least as I haven't seen that dying tech around for ages.

On top of all of that, as mentioned above, there will also be two lithographs from Playboy and the Alberto Vargas Estate in the Mafia 3 Collector’s Edition to give just an extra little bonus. These will all be based on the in game collectibles that became so popular in past titles of the franchise which will also be back in this one. Of course they won't be as vintage as they were in Mafia 2 but be from the 1960s when the game takes place. So only a little vintage for those who care and don't have access to the internet in today's age. That should be few and far though…

Mafia 3 — Collector’s Edition
  • Mafia III: Official Soundtrack of New Bordeaux — 180 gram vinyl pressing featuring some of the 60’s greatest hit makers, including Otis Redding & Carla Thomas, Sam Cooke, The Animals, and more. The vinyl is a sampling of the larger in-game soundtrack, that includes an eclectic mix of Rock, Rhythm and Blues, and Pop, all colliding against a backdrop of war, civil unrest, and sweeping social changes that defined the 1960s.
  • Mafia III: Original Game Score — 180 gram vinyl pressing of the original game score for Mafia III. Composed by Jesse Harlin and Jim Bonney, two of the industry’s great composers, the Mafia III original game score is a Rhythm and Blues inspired tour through a city ruled by organized crime and corrupt officials, and the setting for Lincoln Clay’s emotional story of loss and revenge.
  • Exclusive Collectible Art Prints — Two lithographs from Playboy and the Alberto Vargas Estate representing a vast collection of art for players to discover in-game.
  • The Art of Mafia III Collectible Art Book — A 56-page visual look at the creation of New Bordeaux, a new game world fashioned after New Orleans in the summer of 1968.
  • Lincoln Clay Replica Dog Tags — 1960s US military issue replicas. These are the tags of a combat-hardened Vietnam vet fueled by the need for military-grade revenge against the Italian Mafia.
  • Faux Leather Establishment Drink Coasters — Representing the Paradiso Casino and Sammy’s in-game criminal establishments, these aren’t just souvenirs, but symbols of Lincoln Clay’s motivations for revenge.
  • Season Pass — Future post-release downloadable content bundled at a discount.

Currently the price listed for Mafia 3’s Collector’s Edition is 149.99 USD. Those who do opt to pre-order this edition or any version of the game will be met with a nice little pre-order bonus called the "Family Kick-Back bonus." All that this seems to bring though is a few exclusive vehicles to drive around in the game and some extra weapons. We'll have to wait and see if there is anything more or what specifically is coming in the pre-order bonus.
