A new addition to the Star Wars franchise is in the works and it looks like the Titanfall developers are looking to expand the Star Wars universe just a bit more
All Star Wars fans can rejoice yet again as it looks like there is yet another title in the works for the franchise and this time it is coming from the team who brought us Titanfall. That's right; Respawn has now been tapped by EA to undertake yet another Star Wars title for the world and they waited until today, for obvious reasons, to reveal it all to the world. As if you didn't have enough options already now you will have one more to fly off to a galaxy far away…
While it would have worked out much better to actually have to show the world it looks like all we are getting here is an announcement that a new Star Wars title is coming from the studio. All that is known so far is the development team and the fact that it will be a 3rd person game set in the universe. Also that the team tackling this project will be led by the Director of God Of War 3; Stig Asmussen. If they decide to go an epic story route with the story at least we know it is in amazing hands so we can rest assured there.
Today, I’m thrilled to be able to announce that EA and the talented team at Respawn Entertainment have expanded our relationship to include the development of an all-new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. They join our other great studios – Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive and more – who are currently working on Star Wars projects.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Vince Zampella and his group. Their obsession with making games that feel amazing has helped make Titanfall one of the most successful new game launches of this generation. And now, with a new team led by Stig Asmussen, we get to see what they can do when you combine that great attention to gameplay with the power of Star Wars.
