The Magic Circle
Sandbox game The Magic Circle is heading to the PS4 so even more players can get a feel for game design, or lack thereof, in The Magic Circle's case
Maybe you have heard of The Magic Circle already and that will put you ahead of the curve a bit. It did come out for the PC back in July of 2015 so it is quite possible but it looks like Question wants to bring the game to the attention of even more gamers. As the title says here, The Magic Circle is now heading to the PS4 and of course we have a brand new trailer to show off with the announcement. That way you are not surprised when it lands on May 10th at all.
For those not in the know, The Magic Circle is a sandbox game where you take on the role of an RPG hero whose game has yet to be finished. The designers of your game have been trying hard over the last 20 years and still have yet to make their magnum opus a reality. Being fed up you take control and shape the world of The Magic Circle as you see fit so you can get your adventure over with, save the world, and most likely make out with the princess. As is usually the case in most RPGs out there.
The Magic Circle: Gold Edition - Launch Trailer
The really cool part about The Magic Circle is that you are going to get to remix and 'steal' from other elements of the not-so-completed title as you listen to the fictional developers prattle on and argue over the game's direction. If you ever wanted to know what being on a small dev team in school is like then here you go. I've been there and the trailer above does a great job of showing what these little meetings can feel like and how the character of The Magic Circle can get fed up if he were a real thing.
Another interesting aspect of The Magic Circle is the fact that you will be able to hop into "unfinished" or "lost" elements and levels of the game some of which looking to be right out of the 90's FPS line ups. Of course this isn't new news for anyone who has already given The Magic Circle a chance on the PC, Mac, or Linux platforms but for all of those console gamers out there Question is bringing yet another amazing experience to us all.
Have you already played The Magic Circle and are now looking forward to the PS4 release? Does things kind of game interest you or do you think it is better left alone to the smaller fan clubs out there? Are you as interested as I am to see how close to a real dev cycle The Magic Circle is going to feel in its not-so-complete form? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As more on this game and others like it come out we will have it here. Be sure to stick around so you don't miss a thing.
