Talk about one hell of a turnaround as it looks like the Street Fighter V "beta" stress test for the North American region is upon us sooner than speculated. In fact by the time some of you are reading this Capcom will have turned on the flood gates for all of those PC and PS4 gamers to try and bring down the Street Fighter V servers. Not via hacking or anything but by sheer amount of players trying to beat each other down over their network and in the game. I hope no one gets any wise ideas here as this Street Fighter V "beta" has been trying to get rolled out for some time now and it looks like the wait is over…for now.
All of this comes from the community forums for Street Fighter V where it was announced that the tests went well for the European and Asian markets and now Capcom is ready to give the North Americans a try at it. And give us all a try starting at 4pm today (8/25/15) PST. If this was too short of notice for those looking to play Street Fighter V in beta form you still have another chance to play it on some bogged down servers tomorrow (8/26/15) at the same time. I am sure that after this we will soon see a full Street Fighter V beta for everyone that will lead to gameplay tweaks and not seeing if the servers can handle the load. It makes sense to me.
After successful SFV online stress tests in both Europe and Asia, we are happy to announce that the North and South America stress tests will be taking place at the following times:
- 8/25 (TUE) 4pm~midnight PT
- 8/26 (WED) 4pm~midnight PT
Street Fighter V — E3 2015 Trailer
It shouldn't need noting but it will be anyways. If you are part of this test for Street Fighter V this will not be the final form of the game and will definitely still have some issues left that will need fixing. This is not an early access for Street Fighter V that Capcom is giving us out of the kindness of their hearts but to see if they have fixed the networking portion of the game to handle the heavy loads that Street Fighter V will definitely bring. Don't confuse beta with early access is the morale of the story here. Other than that do enjoy your first looks at Street Fighter V in your homes.
Are you as surprised as I am for the quick turnaround on Street Fighter V getting its stress test or did you expect this? Are you going to be able to hop in and kick some ass or will you be waiting until the first official beta test for Street Fighter V to do that? Why would be another good question there. Let us know down in the comments and discuss. As we press further on into the Street Fighter V development cycle and Capcom gives us more news to work with we will update the site and thus you. Be sure to keep it locked in here for more on Street Fighter V as it comes.
