Because we are an impatient bunch and need to see something from the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection months before it lands on the PS4 we have some new and improved gameplay from Uncharted 2 from said collection. Now we can all see if outsourcing the upgrades and conversions to Bluepoint Games is going to pay off when all is said and done. You know, because we can't expect Naughty Dog to do it while they are slaving away on Uncharted 4 and the ever so rumored The Last Of Us 2. I know I'd rather have those games handled by the masters and the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection handled by a third party; at least as long as they don't muddle things up like the one that handled the PC version of Arkham Knight.
Back to the title in question as we only have some Uncharted 2 HD gameplay to show off to the world today. That is only until the rumored "beta" comes out some time this summer or PlayStation hooks up more "preferred media" with test samples to get early impressions of the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection way before any of the other mere mortals in the video game industry. Enough on all that though. Let's have a look at Uncharted 2: Among Thieves from the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and see if there was room for improvement when it came to the titles. Then hope we see something for the other ones, specifically Drake's Fortune before October 8th.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection — Uncharted 2 Footage
Truth be told here, the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection version of the game look about the same as it did to me when I first played through. I didn't expect too much to be changed here in this version but it could also be the encoding used on YouTube for the video. Uncharted 2 still looks spectacular here, so don't get me wrong, but I am only seeing the ability to play one of Naughty Dog's best franchises on the PS4 before Uncharted 4 comes out is going to be the biggest allure here and not some massive visual update that we all hope for. At least I know a good chuck of you out there have hoped for that with the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection when all is said and done.
So what do you think about what you just saw for the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection updates to the second title in the franchise? Can you see any vast improvement on the title that didn't have much more wiggle room for that? Do you think that Bluepoint Games looks to have done a great job of updating or should they have left that to Naughty Dog? Let us know what you think about the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection down in the comments. Also keep checking back in as we will hopefully have an update on that "beta" rumor mentioned above and you won't want to be left in the dark on that now would you?
