So, I've been a little late in the game for posting this. Sorry about that, but I have teased about it. I swear I have. But here is the whole skinny on this new update. Watch the videos below and then continue down for more of my thoughts and details. If you care that much.
Ok, so watching those, I'm pretty psyched about this new firmware. It gives a few things I have wanted for a while. Like Google in the XMB. Just kidding. But the ability to play my games with my own music tracks. Now I can continue my tradition without having to run two machines to play my music and play my games. What tradition? Playing "happy" music during fucked up scenes in video games that is. Nothing like playing the opening parts of MGS4 while "Singing in the Rain" is playing in the background. Think about it. It sounds awesome right?
But in any instance, I was also looking forward to the Trophy thing as well. Now maybe I'll be able to get a gamertag for my PS3 and show off the games I pwn on. cough Bubble Bobble couch This is a feature I loved with the XBox and more so when I started to play Portal on my PC. It's a video game fanatics version of Pokémon I guess.
The only major draw back I find with this is that the Trophies will not be retroactive. Meaning you will have to play through all your games again to prove that you didn't just download a save file with everything beaten. CheterMcCheat! On top of that, I don't play a single game that is listed for launch. So I will have to wait until they send out those patches adding the trophies for all of the games I do play. Not to big of a drawback, but still.
Oh, forgot to mention, it is released on the 2nd. That's this Wednesday.
