Disney Infinity 3.0 Officially Announced & Bringing Star Wars

We all knew it was coming but now we have the official announcement that Disney Infinity 3.0 is coming. Not only that but it is going to be heavy on the Star Wars side of things with the content. It looks like pretty much anything from the animated series to all seven of the live action films will be included into the toy box this time in Disney Infinity 3.0. Ninja Theory and Disney Interactive have a lot to work worth and will most likely be under more scrutiny to make this the best of the Disney Infinity franchise. Just as the film will be for the overall franchise but that isn't a video game so let's get back to that.

Also spoken on for Disney Infinity 3.0 will be the inclusion of highly demanded Disney and Marvel characters as Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, Olaf, and Mickey. Seems odd that they waited until Disney Infinity 3.0 to finally bring in Mickey but there you go. there are also a few other play sets and Tron characters in the mix but as the focus is on Star Wars here I am sure these will be shown and discussed at later times. Do we really need more than that to fill out the toy box in Disney Infinity 3.0 though? Of course we do so let's just move on until we get more on that.

In Disney Infinity 3.0 we will also be getting the inclusion of new toy box expansion games: Toy Box Takeover and Toy Box Speedway. One being an action-adventure style game and the other giving us that kart racing that we apparently can't get enough of in our video games. All those other franchises with kart racing can't be wrong and now we can host our own Pod Racing in Disney Infinity 3.0 with Jack Skellington and Han Solo. We have always wanted that and now we can… I think…about the first part not the second.

Disney Infinity 3.0 — Welcomes Star Wars

As of right now there is no release date locked down for Disney Infinity 3.0 but it will be hitting the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC. I think it will be a safe bet that Disney Infinity 3.0 will be launching sometime in November as the Force Awakens expansion is slated to be coming after the launch. None the less we will be with no shortage of Star Wars games to play this holiday season. It's almost like we have traveled back in time now hasn't it?

What do you think about the official announcement of Disney Infinity 3.0? Is it just a great cash in for the upcoming film or is it the expansion that we have all wanted for the franchise? How about that Mickey addition? Let us know what you think down in the comments and talk about other characters you may want to see in future expansions as well as edition of the Disney Infinity franchise.
