Time for the internet to explode as Telltale Games is teaming up with Marvel to bring us all a game series based on something based in their universe. That being Marvel's universe and not Telltale's The Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones, or Minecraft universes that they are currently working on. There is now clue yet as to what could be in the works between the two but given the history of Marvel and Telltale we can hopefully expect greatness. We may also be able to expect something along the lines of the TV/Game hybrid that Lionsgate has signed a deal for with the developer. Given Marvel's connecting of EVERYTHING that would make sense.
Information on the partnership here is still a bit sparse but Marvel Games creative director Bill Roseman used "exquisite," "sexy," and "eye-popping" to describe whatever they are working on so there is that. Also all of the announcements from Marvel and Telltale you can see from their social media and blog sites.

Announced this evening in San Francisco, we're excited to reveal an all-new partnership with the incredible team at Marvel Entertainment. We'll be teaming up on the development of an upcoming Telltale game series project set to premiere in 2017!
As always, stay tuned here for the latest news and details on this and all of our upcoming projects as they become available...
I have a feeling that this is going to be Marvel's outlet for franchises they still don't have the full rights to yet in their film and TV arenas. This could be a way around some of those deals Marvel most likely wants out of so they can have their one huge universe under one roof again. It could also be a way to introduce some of their other grittier characters in a way that could be deemed inappropriate for TV and films. At least to keep the ratings boards happy. I'm hopeful for a true Punisher style story that is even darker and dirtier than War Zone but I think Marvel may just keep that in the "funny pages" for now. It'll most like be something to further their Inhumans and other film IPs but that of course is just my speculation.
What do you think Marvel may be having Telltale bring us in 2017? Or for that matter, what would you want to see Marvel bring us? Would asking for a true Marvel Zombies game be too out of line or just right for Telltale? Let us know what you think down in the comments and check back as we will update as soon as we know more on what Marvel is doing here.
