Love is supposedly in the air as tomorrow is Valentine's Day so what better way to show your affection than by seeing a new trailer for Until Dawn. Love or Lust are always part of horror films and video games so why not see how Supermassive Games is going to set the stage so we can follow the horror movie rules when Until Dawn comes home sometime this year. It wouldn't be the classic horror story if we didn't have teens or early tweens trying to bump uglies and let's face it, Valentine's Day is truly all about that. I guess I am just trying to further make sense as to why this PS4 title needs a trailer on the day before V-day. Not like it's Friday The 13th or anything…
Moving along, we really do have a new trailer for Until Dawn that looks to only reuse maybe 10% of what we've already seen and experienced for the game thus far. It also does live up the standard movie tropes as it should and also looks to show a different side of the killer or maybe an accomplice. We've all seen the porcelain masked man time and time again but it looks like there is another "hunter" looking character who doesn't limp after the characters in the game. Now we are getting into some Hills Have Eyes or House Of 1000 Corpses area when it comes to the horror style and I am completely down with this. Great films and had great elements that could carry to a game very well.
All of that stuff aside, it also looks like none of the "hook ups" in Until Dawn are set in stone from the beginning of the game. According to the PlayStation Blog the two we see getting frisky in the trailer here may not do that in everyone's gameplay of Until Dawn. Those scenes you will see below are the product of choices and actions you will take during Until Dawn as well. That means if you choose wisely or poorly there may or may not be some fun loving when you play the game. It could all just be one long torture porn as some of us out there may prefer.
Until Dawn — Valentine's Day Trailer
Until Dawn looks cheesy and it has still managed to impress me yet again. Unless Supermassive does something extremely stupid as they finalize production for Until Dawn I think it could go down as a classic like the original horror films it is all based on. Do you think the same? Let's hear your thoughts down below. We still have some time for Until Dawn so let us all keep the conversation going.
