We spoke about the Assassin's Creed Experience a few times before it was unleashed at SDCC last week. This would be the huge parkour course that they set up outside of Comic Con to allow fans of the franchise to see if they could handle the same stuff that Arno may need to do in Assassin's Creed Unity. It was gimmicky but it was also a blast to be able to run through.
This isn't the first time that Ubisoft has brought something Assassin's Creed themed to Comic Con but it definitely was the most interactive. Not to mention it made a whole lot of people face their fear of heights with the 25 foot leap of faith. Something I wish we all would have been allowed to experience just as we would in Assassin's Creed but, you know, safety. Only the good people from the Tempest Freerunning Academy were allowed that fun. Beggars and choosers I guess here.
I'll save you a lengthy run down of how the Assassin's Creed Experience played out as it took me under two minutes to run the whole course. It was worth the hour and a half wait but not worth ten minutes of reading to just see with your own eyes what exactly happened. I've also included the pro run recorded by the Ubisoft/FragDoll team so you can see the whole course in motion as we were limited to where we could go while recording.
Without further ado, here's the Assassin's Creed Experience from SDCC 2014. I sure hope that Ubisoft will bring more things like this moving forward.
