If you had a lot of burning question at the end of the Tomb Raider reboot and what led to the events in the trailer for Rise Of The Tomb Raider then you may be in luck. DK Publishing has announced that there will be a new novel that bridges between both games called Tomb Raider: The Ten Thousand Immortals. It is slated to come out this October so that will help all of us huge fans pass the time between the games as I am sure we are still a way off from the next game version of the franchise.
Tomb Raider: The Ten Thousand Immortals is said to take place after the events of Tomb Raider where we see Lara trying to save her friend Sam again; this time from a toxic overdose. Lara hears about an artifact that is stated to be able to heal Sam as well as explain all the weird stuff that happened on Yamatai Island. You know, all of that weird supernatural stuff that came out of nowhere while we tried to guide Lara along and led to her sitting in the therapist's office in the latest trailer.
The good news her for Tomb Raider: The Ten Thousand Immortals is that the writers of the novel are working close with Crystal Dynamics to make sure that the story fits in between both stories. I hope it won't be like those Resident Evil novels that seemed to follow the games until an even number came along and then they deviated leading to more 'wants' in those games for me. I just hope it won't be required reading to get the full story in Rise Of The Tomb Raider though. Hopefully more Easter Eggs for those who spent the time reading instead. I guess we'll find out this October.
