If you haven't picked up Unreal Tournament, I would highly recommend it. It is a great game and it is an awesome engine to putter around with. Actually working on a full game mod with a armature development team. From what we've got so far, this engine is phenomenal. The image is not a rendered 3D film, but actual gameplay graphics.
Now onto why I've been giving some good ass kissing to the engine and the actual topic of this Narticle. EA just signed an agreement to use Epic's engine in more of their games. In fact 5 new games, unnamed at this time. The reason for the ass kissing is that the engine works so well for graphics that the designers don't need to worry as much about how the game will do the graphics and can focus more on gameplay and story. If there's the need for story. So we can all look forwards to some good games from EA. Hopefully at least. Here's the release.
"Epic is committed to providing EA with the premier development infrastructure, tools and technology for its upcoming games," said Mark Rein, vice president, Epic Games. "We're extremely excited that EA has chosen to expand their use of Unreal Engine 3 and we can't wait to see more of the great games they will produce with it."
