You play Sir Knight and work to develop a relationship, using epic innuendos, with four different stereotypical RPG lady friends. A Princess, Elf, Thief and Item Shop Girl all await you on your hilarious journey which is very reminiscent of a pix-elated Leisure Suit Larry within a medieval fantasy world. You move from screen to screen choosing your own adventure through different dialog options. There really is only one correct dialog to choose but the negative outcomes are really quite amusing. 8-bit Girlfriend is based off the web comic that you can read over on the website www.8bitgf.com
A big highlight of the game is the music, which comes from the 2003 album Last Dead Afternoon which you can pick up on iTunes. It's actually a really good album and if you get a chance you should check them out.
Game play is simple. Choices are made by either choosing up, down, left, or right. It's a funny simplistic game and only 80 points (that's a dollar folks) on the XBox Live market place. Not really much of a replay factor though. If you need a good laugh, something to run through in about an hour and have a couple of marketplace points laying around, I recommend checking it out.
