Resident Evil
A new look at the upcoming Resident Evil Movie is here, and we get to see how it is going to link into the bigger Resident Evil world
The release for the Resident Evil movie is getting closer by the day, with September 18th almost here for us all to enjoy the new take on the IP. A new take that looks to bring us all back into the feel of the games that Capcom gave us, and not specifically a retelling of a story. That has been the goal since the start from Zach Cregger on this one. That has left some fans wondering how it will build into the rest of the Resident Evil lore out there. Well, it looks as if we are getting a bit of an answer to all of that now, with a new look at the film just ahead of the big release. A look that will let us all know how it is going to tap into many of the elements from the IP but not feel like it is a retelling of things. Let us hear it all from the director's mouth for this.
A lot of the above we already knew, but here for the Resident Evil movie, it looks as if the lore will go a bit deeper. Like the fact that we will be seeing Umbrella in the mix of things, as we all presumed that was the medical company our protagonist will be working for as they head into Racoon City. The other fun things will be the fact that the story will keep us moving forward from location to location, much like the games, and seeing our gear accidentally getting upgraded along the way. Not in a forced way, but in a way that feels fitting for the real world and the Resident Evil IP. Not to mention, we are going to have all of those little Easter Eggs tossed in and a silly number of locks that we are going to have to see get unlocked. I have a feeling that the lock thing is going to be part of the comedic side of Cregger coming out to break the tension before forcing us to stumble around the world a bit more.

Does all of this get you more excited for the film, or were you one of those who can only watch a movie if it is a shot-for-shot remake of a Resident Evil story? Do you think it will be jarring to press from place to place in the film, or will it truly feel like how the video games do play out? Will there be too many jokes about how many dumb locks there are in the city, or will that only be for a small section to give us a laugh at the old video game logic we have played out before? We are fully excited to see the Resident Evil film in theaters as soon as it drops, and these videos keep the hype building. If you need and want more of all of that, then you will want to watch the website for more of those updates and follow along on all of our social channels to see when we have more to share.
