Last Summer
A new Kickstarter campaign for Last Summer has started, with a little bit of gameplay to get us ready for Last Summer
We are officially in the summertime around here, and it looks like that means we are getting a new update for Last Summer. That would be the video game that Silent Lamb Studio is working on for the PC and not a look back into our memories of last year. You know, the asymmetrical horror title for PC, not just the horrors that played out during that time at summer camp… I digress. All of this is to get us all ready for Last Summer to kick off a Kickstarter campaign to try to get the game over the last hurdles of development, and give some of us a chance to help shape the game with our currency. Not all of us are fans of this tactic, but if it gives us a non-IP-driven game in the genre, I'll give it a break.
As of this writing, Last Summer still has a way to go to get the roughly $150,000 USD goal that is set for the game. There's still a lot of time to get things going for it, though, so that's not a massive worry. If you want to help get the team to that goal, but are still on the fence about what the game will be, we have a little gameplay to look at just a bit further down. The game will be a traditional multiplayer horror game with a 7v1 style of play. 7 campers need to survive the 1 killer after a mysterious train brought them into the grounds. All of the characters were designed in ways to make them feel unique, while also landing the stereotypes of the '80s slashers that Last Summer was truly inspired by. If all of that tickles your fancy, then you can back the game at the various tiers that will land you access to the final game, all the way up to getting to help design a camper or a weapon that can be used in the game. I'm guessing that we will be sticking away from the killer designs, as those would be the quickest way that players could land the team in IP hell.
Last Summer — Gameplay
Silent Lamb Studio is thrilled to announce that the Kickstarter campaign for Last Summer, its blood-chilling asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience, is now live. Horror fans can support the game’s development, unlock exclusive rewards, and help shape the future of a terrifying new universe inspired by classic slasher films.
To mark the launch of the campaign, Silent Lamb Studio has also unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Last Summer, offering players a terrifying glimpse at the game's brutal hunter-and-prey gameplay, cinematic kills, and the blood-soaked nightmare awaiting at Silent Lamb Camp (and surrounding areas).
What begins as one final carefree getaway quickly descends into terror. Arriving at Silent Lamb Camp ahead of the summer season, a group of friends spend their nights drinking, laughing, and sharing ghost stories around the campfire. But when the legend of a masked killer, said to arrive aboard a ghostly train and leave nothing but blood and silence in his wake, proves to be more than just a story, their final night becomes a desperate fight for survival.
In Last Summer, players must hunt or be hunted. As the killer, the objective is simple: stalk the shadows, isolate victims, and eliminate every last survivor. As campers, players must work together, search for resources, and use every opportunity to escape before it is too late. With multiple routes to freedom, dynamic encounters, and constant tension, every match unfolds differently, and every decision could be your last.
Each survivor brings their own strengths and attributes to the fight, allowing players to approach every encounter differently, while extensive cosmetic customization offers the chance to create their own unique look. Campers can equip items, coordinate with teammates, and even fight back when cornered, while killers can unleash brutal execution moves designed to spread fear throughout the camp. Set within a completely original universe, Last Summer delivers a fresh take on asymmetrical horror built around community-driven development from the very beginning.
The Last Summer Kickstarter campaign allows supporters to unlock exclusive rewards and help expand the experience through additional stretch goals as development continues. With the first gameplay now revealed and a growing community of horror fans assembling, Silent Lamb Studio is inviting horror fans everywhere to become part of the story.
Support the Kickstarter campaign today, wishlist Last Summer on Steam, and prepare to discover whether you'll survive until sunrise… or become just a story whispered around the campfire.
How do you feel about what we are seeing for Last Summer here? Does this make you want to back the Kickstarter campaign? How will it truly feel different from the various other titles like it? Will we get to see more than just the one killer with a bunch of skins on top of it? Let's hear all of those thoughts down in the comment section of the page. We will keep our eyes open for more to come for Last Summer, so please join us in the adventure of all of that. You can do that by watching the site or following all of our socials to see when we have something new to update for any of our video games out there. We do know that there will be something in the future for this one, as long as the campaign is successful.
