Where Dolls Hang Announces A New Horror Island To Travel To

Where Dolls Hang

The announcement for Where Dolls Hang is out there, with Where Dolls Hang bringing a scary, real island to life

Get ready to have some new fears unlocked, with the announcement out there for Where Dolls Hang. A new horror title on the way to the PC from Steelkrill Studio that will be taking us all to an island that so many don't want to think exists. That being the Isla de las Muñecas in Mexico, or the Island of Dolls as it is known outside. I'm sure that anyone who's been on the internet or engaging with content over the years has missed out on this little place, but for those who have, Where Dolls Hang will be bringing that to life for us all to survive. Along with some fun elements from other games to keep us engaged, from just wandering around a creepy island where these little toys will be creeping us all out.

So, now that you have an idea of the location that we'll be in for Where Dolls Hang, what is that we're going to be doing in the game? We are in the role of a detective who has been trapped in the "Forest Of The Dolls" while trying to handle a missing person case. So, on top of just trying to survive the island and forest, we're going to need to investigate the land, bodies we come across, and go through all of the usual CSI flow to figure things out. All while making sure we do all of the collecting and building of a survival game, and making sure the horrors in Where Dolls Hang do not bring us to an early end in the investigation. Along with keeping our own sanity as we see all of the creepy dolls and figures all over the island and forest we're in. It sounds like a perfect little horror title to me, and you can see it in motion a little bit in the following video for the game. Let's get weird.

Where Dolls Hang — Announcement

The game is inspired by Isla de las Muñecas in Mexico, also known as the Island of Dolls. The game blends the survival, crafting, and exploration of The Forest with the psychological tension and atmosphere of Silent Hill, P.T., and Outlast.

Unlike traditional survival horror experiences, Where Dolls Hang puts players in the role of a detective. Trapped within an unnatural "Forest of Dolls," players must investigate missing person cases by examining bodies, collecting clues, placing evidence markers, and documenting crime scenes with an in-game camera, all while surviving the dangers lurking within the woods.

Described as a blend of The Forest, Outlast, P.T., and Silent Hill, Where Dolls Hang combines survival mechanics, exploration, and crafting with psychological horror and a unique forensic investigation system rarely seen in the genre.

Features:

  • Forensic Investigation Gameplay - Examine bodies, collect clues, place evidence markers, and document crime scenes as a detective trapped in a nightmare.
  • Psychological Survival Horror - Combines the exploration and survival elements of The Forest with the oppressive atmosphere and psychological tension of Silent Hill.
  • The Forest Of Dolls - Explore a disturbing world inspired by Mexico’s infamous Isla de las Muñecas, reimagined as a living forest filled with dark secrets.
  • Dynamic Survival Systems - Adapt to changing weather, a day-night cycle, and evolving threats that can alter how you explore, hide, and survive.
  • Personal Mystery Narrative - Uncover the truth behind a string of disappearances while searching for answers about your own missing daughter.
