Resident Evil
A teaser trailer for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie is here, and it looks like it is bringing the horror back into Resident Evil
We all knew it was coming after a solid run of films, and now we are here with the first look at Zach Cregger's take on the Resident Evil franchise. I mean, there is more behind this film, but Mr. Cregger is the one they are billing to help it stand out from the last run of films that the IP went through. Many of them are bad, and a few okay ones are sprinkled in. Thankfully, this Resident Evil movie is not leaning into any of that, and is set as something completely original, just with the setting of the IP to help drive it. That sounds very promising, and has been since the rumors started to circulate, but now we get to see it in action. Well, we have the first teaser trailer for the film to see in action, and we will have to wait until September 18th to get the final judgment out there.
Since this one is not pulling from any of the Resident Evil stories so far, what is going down in this one? Well, it looks like a medical courier named Brian, played by Austin Abrams, is on a job and finds himself in a bit of a pickle. That places him in an unfamiliar place where all manner of chaos and nightmares are going to make sure the horror action is high. In the following teaser for the Resident Evil movie, we get to see that there are a bit of romantic issues going on, and there is worry that things are not going to go well for our character. While we do not get to see the traditional bio weapons, as of yet, we get to see all manner of creepy shots and some creature design that might be worse than anything we have seen in the games. Not to mention, there is one scene where it does look like it could be raining zombies on the streets, but we are going to need to wait to see if that is the truth out there.

How are you feeling about the newest Resident Evil movie based on the teaser, or is it still too soon for you to have a true opinion on it? Do you agree that it looks like it is going to be more of a horror than we have been hoping for, or does it seem to deviate from the source too much for those diehard fans out there? Will our protagonist be linked to Umbrella in some way, or will we just get a solid zombie/bio weapon/body horror film that is tangentially linked to the IP? Let us have those thoughts down in the comment section and keep the discussion civil. I am excited to see this new take on the Resident Evil IP, and have yet to be let down by any of the work Zach Cregger has been attached to. So, expect us to cover as much of this film as we can, as it feels like a solid breath of fresh air. To see all of that, just come back to the website often, and follow all of our social channels to get updates as we head along in time.
