Gothic
Those looking to secure their copy of Gothic 1 Remake can do so now, with the pre-orders opened for Gothic
In a world where things are mostly digital and there are fewer limited quantities out there, it is always weird to have an announcement to come through as we do for the pre-orders for the Gothic 1 Remake. You can do that as of right now to make sure you are going to have what Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic will drop on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this June 5th. Just in case you were worried that you wouldn't be able to secure that copy of Gothic. Thankfully, though, that is not the only little bit we have here for the game, as that would've been a little bit of a downer to have for an update. While the pre-orders are now open, you can see a little more of that gameplay in the game to further justify why you should throw your money out well in advance.
Now that we have the marketing part out of the way, let's see just what is here for the Gothic 1 Remake. A nice, short, and sweet little bit of footage to show how the game has been brought into the modern era for the systems that are going to run it. Even if it all looks to be another generic fantasy title that could be leaning on the nostalgia of things a bit to help sell. Mainly, as it is all quick flashes of little bits of the gameplay and not much to help highlight what is going down in Gothic. It certainly looks like it is a modern title, but if I didn't know what it was in the first place, this wouldn't have sold me on the remake. Have a look at things just a bit lower, forget that it is from the IP, and tell me that you could name the game. What is going to help it stand out there for the newer generation of gamers who have never heard of this game before? That's the point I'm getting at, as long as they are not just hoping the original fans are going to gobble it all up for them to make their money on.

Would you be able to tell this is a Gothic title without the logo splashed on it? Will we get an in-depth look at the gameplay before the remake hits our homes? Why is there still a push to pre-order video games in a world that has moved things to digital? Do you long for the days when there was a need to secure a copy before it launched, so you didn't have to wait for new ones to be shipped out? Let's talk it all out in the comment section down the page here. I'm trying to stay positive that the Gothic 1 Remake will give us something truly new to see before it launches, and I'll bring it to the site when that happens.
