The stealth-based horror on the PS4 and PS5 is getting another title in the mix today, January 8th, with Cakey’s Twisted Bakery finally launching on these consoles. Fresh off the releases, where TinyMindz got the game on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S after a while on the PC. A fun little staggering of the game's release, but that's okay. Given that Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is on the indie side of it all, it makes sense that we have a staggering like this. Not to mention that it has to compete with many other horror games like it that have been released. All of that to say, if you need a new horror title to play on the PlayStation, you have one to drop onto your system now.
For those who might have missed the memo for Cakey’s Twisted Bakery, it is a stealth-based horror game as mentioned. It is one where we find ourselves locked in a twisted bakery setting that has all manner of monsters roaming and trying to bake us into some tasty treats. The reason we are all in this mess, of course, is because we went looking for our missing brother. So, instead of telling our parents, we set out there to face off with these dough monsters who have been dominating this bakery. All with the same gameplay feel as many of the mascot horror titles that we've experienced for decades now. If that sounds like a title you'll have fun with, have a look at the little bit of gameplay we have to show off for this new release. Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is a stealth survival horror presented from a first-person perspective. Players take on the role of a child searching for their missing brother inside a bakery filled with living dough monsters. For these dangerous creatures: Cakey, Frostina, and Candy Bane — children are nothing more than baking ingredients.
In Cakey’s Twisted Bakery, players must sneak and hide to avoid direct encounters with monsters. Crafting and randomization play an important role in gameplay. Survival depends on collecting the right ingredients to bake cakes. Accurately throwing specific baked goods stuns and defeats enemies.
The chaotic bakery created by TinyMindz offers an intriguing mix of sweetness and darkness. A flashlight helps with navigation, and players can also search for all unique collectible notes scattered throughout the environment.
