007 First Light

007 First Light has been hit with a delay, and we will have to wait a few months longer to experience the fun of 007 First Light

Just when we thought we were all on a high for video games, we are no hit with the news that 007 First Light is going to be delayed a bit now. Yeah, it is a little bit of a shock given how much IO Interactive has put out there for the game up to now, but it is going to need to miss that original release date. All with this new delay pushing 007 First Light back two more months for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC releases. Those looking for the new date, well, that is now May 27^th, 2026. It will be right before the usual Summer break time, so there is that for those who have a schedule that works around those timelines. The rest of us, we just have to do without for a few extra months.

Even though the team is telling us all that 007 First Light is progressing well, it looks as if they need these few extra months to add "more polish" to it all. That fun little thing that gets dropped all of the time, that doesn't truly explain why the game many have pre-ordered is taking longer. The same tale we have had for decades now, when many of us would rather hear that it is so, the team is not being hit with crunch time, and is still able to bring us the game they want. I think that would be amazing for 007 First Light, but instead, we have the "needs more polish" reasoning for the extra two months. As long as the game is actually complete, I'll wait as needed. I just wish we could have better details or reasoning that works for the team better than the usual PR spin.
