Toxic Commando
Gear up for another zombie game with John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, as the Toxic Commando will be out there next March
Adding to the ever-growing list of video games that were given a release date during The Game Awards this year, we can now add John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando. Yet another fucking zombie shooting game, but from the masters who know how to do it. I mean, we have one of the names right there in the title of the game, and then you can just look up what Saber Interactive has done with the undead for a while now. All to give us this new co-op shooter with all the grime and action of the '80s. As long as we are still able to hit the mark of March 12th, when Focus Entertainment is gearing to bring the game to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Given how long we have been shambling for this one, I have faith that we will get to that release date without much of an issue. Unless the world does come to an end out there instead.
We have that all out of the way, and you can head out to pre-order whichever version of John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando you want, so we can now take a look at a bit more of the gameplay. Just as we were joking, and the following video jokes, it is just another zombie shooter game. Just in a new setting of the world, and maybe a little more than the undead that we will be shooting. It is what we were bred for, as it seems in the story of the game. As long as we are able to hold our own and work well with the other members of the Toxic Commando teams, we should do fine. Even when some of the bigger and more monstrous things start to crawl their way out there and attack us. Just be sure to keep the blood pumping in the body, and not flowing on the floors, then we should see a brighter day out there. If not that, then a way for the team to keep us in the deep shit of it all as they pump out the two extra bits of DLC that have been planned for the final version of the game. Have a look as I am now done prattling on.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando — Release Date
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are thrilled to announce that the ’80s action-horror-inspired co-op shooter John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando will infest PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 12, 2026. Both the game’s Standard and Blood Editions are available to pre-order now on all platforms and include the Leon’s Secret Stash DLC as a free pre-order bonus. The launch date was unveiled alongside a new blood-pumping release date trailer during The Game Awards 2025 ceremony.
NO BRAINS. NO BRAKES. NO FILTER.
In the near future, an experimental attempt to harness the power of the Earth’s core ends in a terrifying disaster, turning soil to sludge and the living to undead monsters. Leon Dorsey, the genius behind the experiment, had a plan to make things right: hire a team of highly trained mercenaries to get the job done. Unfortunately, they were all too expensive. That’s why he hired THE TOXIC COMMANDOS.
Tag team as a squad of up to four players, featuring full crossplay support across PC and consoles. Send the Sludge God and its horde of things-that-should-never-be back to the underworld as you drive across semi-open maps and tear through the wasteland. Find how your squad clicks, shooting swarms of enemies together and smashing them under the wheels of your favorite ride for that pure rush of satisfaction. Unload an array of gunfire, grenades, special abilities, and even freaking katanas. When mutated monstrosities swarm from every angle, teamwork isn't optional—it's survival.
Pre-order the Standard or Blood Edition and Get Free DLC
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando will come in two editions—the Standard Edition and the Blood Edition, both available for pre-order now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam.
Pre-orders of any edition grant the Leon’s Secret Stash DLC for free.
On top of the base game, the Blood Edition includes the Bloody Pass, featuring:

- A golden Cosmetic Pack for weapons featuring a weapon charm and character skins
Don’t let the undead get to you first. Grab your edition now!
Free updates will also be creeping up, adding new missions, enemies, weapons, and vehicles for all players. Stay alert even after launch. Zombies don’t sleep.
Did you expect to see John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando so early in the year, or did you think it would be closer to October to hit the heights of horror? How many of the big beasts will we have to face off with, and will they be more than just background enemies to shoot from afar? Is there a version of the game you have your eyes on, or will you hold out until all of the DLC has dropped before you give the game a go? Fire off those thoughts in the comment section so we can all discuss them as we wish. There will certainly be more for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando in the coming weeks now, and we will have it here for you. Please keep a close eye on the site and our social media so you can follow along with all of the updates. Maybe we will even see some longer gameplay footage than we have up to now very soon…
