Welcome To The Worst Place On Earth With The Reveal For I Hate This Place

I Hate This Place

The comic series I Hate This Place is coming to life in video game form with a new video game named… I Hate This Place

Well, it looks like another comic book is coming alive out there with the reveal for I Hate This Place coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. A title that is coming to life from the book of the same name and from Rock Square Thunder and Broken Mirror Games in the mix of all of this. It is coming from a label known for some of the best horror we have had in the more indie space of things, so that is fully worth noting. Also, if you did not catch that, I Hate This Place is going to be yet another survival horror we get to experience in the mix. Not only from the pages of the comic but also in a style that makes it feel as if the gameplay is being pulled right from those pages too. A solid choice and now we can dig into the reveal.

I Hate This Place looks to be taking up some of the isometric horror space out there, where we will be playing as a character named Elena. A character who will be fighting for life as a new malevolent force comes about and introduces us all to a new and hostile world. From there, we are going to need to take up arms, craft extra gear, and use the world to our advantage as we take down the various forces that are going to be preying upon us in the game. Those basic chestnuts that we are used to in these games. Just this time, it will have the story and setting from I Hate This Place to place us into some familiar territory. So, if you have read those graphic novels, you might have a slight leg up on everything and the horned man that is referenced out there. If anything, you can see some of those references in motion if you go down the page just a bit more to look at the full reveal of the game that we do have.

I Hate This Place — Reveal

Broken Mirror Games, in partnership with Skybound Entertainment, are thrilled to reveal I Hate This Place — an upcoming open-world survival horror game set for release in Q4 2025. As part of a new horror label under Bloober Team (known for The Medium, Layers Of Fear, _Observer, and Silent Hill 2), I Hate This Place will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Inspired by Skybound’s Eisner award-nominated comic book series created by writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin, I Hate This Place plunges players deep into a supernatural world where the rules of reality come undone.

In an all-new isometric survival horror experience, delivered in a striking visual style drenched in bold, vivid colors and retro ‘80s comic book aesthetics, each location is lovingly crafted to tell its own disturbing story through stylish visuals that blur the line between reality and nightmare in a world where everything wants you dead.

Players take on the role of Elena, whose fight for survival begins when she unwittingly awakens a malevolent force. Outmatched and hunted in a hostile world, players must think fast, manipulating their surroundings to even the odds against formidable foes.

Engage in tense gunfights and melee combat that rewards ingenuity over brute force, all while crafting essential tools to survive the harsh and unforgiving wilderness long enough to reach safehouses before nightfall, with the day & night cycle having an impact on gameplay dynamics. Whatever you do though, avoid the Horned Man at all costs.

I Hate This Place is set to launch in Q4 of 2025.

Have you had any experience with I Hate This Place before now or has that just been a phase we constantly say in the world in general? How will this game stand out from the others like it, or will that all be based on the story being told to pull that off more? Will this mostly be just a similar setting as it is inspired by the graphic novels or could we see a different story unfolding in a way that could not be told just on the pages? Make your way down to the comment section to start all of that discussion and try to get it all out there. We are going to keep our eyes on the world of I Hate This Place going forward, so you will need to keep your eyes on the site for all of that. That or follow us on all of the various social media accounts out there so you can get those updates as soon as we are able to drop them on the world.
