Hyperkin has a new controller on the way with a look at the updated Hyperkin Competitor controller

While gaming is not usually a huge focus out at CES, this year Hyperkin came on out there to show off the new Hyperkin Competitor as it is licensed by Xbox. Normally, it is not a huge thing and one would expect it to just be something that has the branding of the company on another company's product. That is only slightly the case with this one as the Hyperkin Competitor is taking the form of another competitor's product to give many gamers a layout and experience that was only able through third-party and other backdoor ways out there. The biggest bit being that it is an Xbox Series X|S style controller but without the split stick design. That may give you a hint as to the other things this one might have in the mix. Something we also had a chance to play around with at CES 2025.

In addition to the Hyperkin Competitor giving us an Xbox-feeling controller with a PS5 layout, there are some extra features that are not easy to see in the images and video we have just below. Like the fact that the triggers, while not adaptive, have a level of haptic feedback that emulates that sensation a bit more. Then there is the option to swap out the thumb sticks to a rounded or concaved design, whichever is the version you find best. The usual trigger buttons with two more back buttons that are synced into the design to give more control to the player. All with the Hyperkin Competitor just being able to be plugged in and ready to go without all of the extra mapping and other programs out there to try to do the same. All for a price, while not defined as of yet, will be a bit more competitive to buying one of the official controllers and then running all of the other apps to make it work. A premium feel without having to pay hundreds of dollars to get it. Not to mention a better hand feel and everything running silently for those who do not want to hear the grind of the sticks too.
