Blasphemous II Gets Us All Ready For The Release Of Mea Culpa

Blasphemous

The next DLC for Blasphemous II is on the way to us to further expand out the story of Blasphemous with a bit more of the guilt

If you have been waiting to get new DLC for Blasphemous II, then you are going to be glad to find out that you are now getting new DLC for the game. Well, it is more of an Expansion to the game as Team17 and The Game Kitchen are going on to explain here, but that is more semantics than anything. It just means that on October 31st, we are going to get a massive update to Blasphemous II and the added option to get more of the story to go along with all of that on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. If this is your kind of bag and the tale of Mea Culpa that is coming sounds like it will be your kind of fun. Along with all of the other changes and updates that the Treu Torment update will have. The latter there is the free update if you have the core game already.

The free update coming for Blasphemous II will offer up some expanding zones, a NewGame+, and a few new enemies amongst all of the other things that updates bring. The paid DLC, Mea Culpa, will bring along new bosses, zones, enemies, quests, and a new alternate ending to the game. A solid little list of things to go with for the price of $11.99 for those who already have the core Blasphemous II experience on their systems. If only we had a solid listing of what all of those were before making the final choice to spring for it all on Halloween. At least we have a short little teaser to look at that does not offer up too much in the way of all of that just below.

Blasphemous II — Mea Culpa Release Date

The Game Kitchen and Team17 Digital are preparing to return to Cvstodia, with the Mea Culpa to hand, to experience an alternate ending to Blasphemous II.

Featuring a new ending, new bosses, new zones, new abilities, new enemies, new quests, and a new… New Game+, experience Cvstodia like never before in this massive expansion to Blasphemous II and become the wielder of one of the most powerful artifacts - The Mea Culpa.

Now is the perfect time to jump into the definitive telling of Blasphemous II’s story - and experience its harshest challenges.

The Free Update includes:

  • Expanded Zones: Choir of Thorns, Sunken Cathedral, and Basilica of Ancient Faces have all been reforged with new challenges to explore and conquer.
  • New Connecting Zones: Quicker traversal between zones already explored so you can dash your way across the world faster than Sarmiento and Centella.
  • A New Challenge: The Labyrinth of Tides presents a new challenge for those ready to face it.
  • New Game+: Totally adjustable difficulty options to upgrade your save game from stronger enemies to deadlier spikes and lethal falls.
  • New Enemies: Cvstodia’s denizens rise to face you, are you up to their challenge?
  • as well as a host of upgrades for the Penitent One, Quality of Life improvements, and Achievements.

The Paid DLC Mea Culpa includes:

  • New Zones: Two massive new zones for you to endure their harsh winds and ascend their towering heights
  • New Bosses: Fight some of the greatest challenges and stare defeat in the face in Mea Culpa
  • New Quests: Piece together your sword and experience the power of Mea Culpa. Plus meet new characters along the way.
  • New NPCs: 4 New compatriots for your journey, will they accept their fate or will you change them forever?
  • New Alternative Ending: face some of Blasphemous II’s fiercest challenges.
  • as well as ways to grow the power of the Mea Culpa.

And so the long night is severed. Dawn Cometh.

Are you all ready to see where the tale of Blasphemous goes from here or do you want to stick to the ending you already have? How do you think all of this new story will build to what has been completed already or will it only be for those who wanted the game to end a different way? Will you only be picking the game back up for the free update and leaving the paid stuff on the side of the road for now? Drop all of those comments in the section below and feel free to discuss it all if that tickles your fancy at all. There is still more to come for Blasphemous II, I am sure, so please keep an eye on the site and our channels to see and hear all of that as it does drop out there.
