Carmen Sandiego Sets Out Again With A Newly Announced Video Game

Carmen Sandiego

Thief Carmen Sandiego is setting out once more with a new video game with us getting to play as Carmen Sandiego this time around

It looks as if we can never keep a good thief down as we have Carmen Sandiego hopping back into the saddle and taking up those criminal ways again. All of this with a new title on the way for 2025 from HarperCollins Productions and Gameloft for the character. Although, there does seem to be a bit of a twist for this version of things. As it turns out, we will not be hunting down the Scarlet Super Thief this time. Instead, we will be playing as the titular Carmen Sandiego in this new adventure title coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, iOS, Android, PC, and via Netflix Games. This should be a little bit of extra fun out there now…

With this interesting twist for those who grew up playing the Carmen Sandiego titles, this time we get to see our thief putting their skills to use against an even bigger threat out there. The terrible organization VILE is up to no good and it will be up to us and Carmen to steal all of the things they are looking for. All while using some crazy gadgets out there, solving all manner of puzzles, and navigating the world in a large espionage conspiracy. It's not exactly what one would think of for a Carmen Sandiego video game, but it's an interesting twist. I am only curious to see if it will tie back into teaching us all geography at the same time or if it will just be expected that we have access to all of those bits of knowledge now that we have a broader scope of the internet than back in the 90s.

Carmen Sandiego — Announcement

The scarlet super thief Carmen Sandiego is back! Adorn Carmen’s signature red hat and play as the vigilante herself to navigate a world of espionage, utilizing high-tech gadgets, and ultimately capturing VILE.

Are you glad to see we are going to have an antihero kind of Carmen Sandiego here or did you want to be the ultimate thief of the world instead? Will this still be an edutainment title or just a way to use the IP to hit nostalgia as well as keep the funding alive? Will we get any fun new songs that will live in our brains rent-free out of all of this or is that another relic of the 90s we will never get back? Sneak on down to the comment section to discuss all of that and everything else we have to share for this game. We will offer up anything further we get for Carmen Sandiego down the line, so please keep on checking back in for all of those updates and the many others we have still to come out there.
