Silent Hill
We get to tiptoe back into Silent Hill with a new trailer showing off some of the story coming in the Silent Hill 2 Remake
It always feels weird to offer up a look at the story for a remake, but here we go with a new trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake that is going to do just that. That is at least the title of it all, but it is more of a showcasing of how Bloober Team is taking what Konami did before and trying to make it their own. We still have the same town of Silent Hill to wander through and many of the same monsters, but here we can see how the characters have shifted a bit and get a nice recap of the basics of the story. Most likely for those few out there who have not experienced this game already. Let us dive right into it all and see what is coming to the PC and PS5 on October 8th now.
Those who have played Silent Hill 2 before will know the story of James coming back to the town after getting a letter from his dead wife. James makes it in, gets lost in the fog a bit, runs into monsters, and learns that all is not as it was from the many times the couple traveled to this little town in the past. That is the big overview of it all without spoiling things. The bigger focus for the Silent Hill 2 remake here is a look at the new character designs and how grimy things feel like they have gone. Grimy in a good way as the developer aims to bring the game to life in a modern era while still keeping their own aesthetic choices and style they are known for. Have a quick look at it all below.
Silent Hill 2 Remake — Story
Presenting the new Silent Hill 2 Story Trailer.
Investigating a letter from his late wife, James returns to where they made so many memories - Silent Hill. What he finds is a ghost town, prowled by disturbing monsters and cloaked in deep fog. Confront the monsters, solve puzzles, and search for traces of your wife.
Please enjoy this latest trailer introducing the other characters James will meet in Silent Hill.
I do have to admit, it has been a while since I played Silent Hill 2 originally, and I am not remembering some of the characters that we have been shown here. At least not in the design that we are seeing here. I remember the cop looking vastly different and not as psychotic and then there are a few other supporting characters too. There is no issue with that at all as Silent Hill does have a way of distorting things out there, it is just odd to see when it comes to a remake to see some harsh differences out there. Maybe this will make it truly feel like it is its own thing and not something based all on nostalgia. As long as we get the various different endings we can watch, I am all on board for changing things up in this way.
Do you have a strong memory of how things went down in the original Silent Hill 2 or will this be a new experience when it comes for you? Will we still get the multiple endings in the game or will they have one set ending that will always be the case? Do you like the new looks for the various characters in the world and does it add that perfect level of grime to it all for you? Wander on down to the comment section to discuss it. We will have much more for the Silent Hill 2 remake as it flows out there. Please keep on checking back in for all of that and everything else we have to offer up to the world out there. You will be haunted by it all.
